KYLE
🌊🌊🌊We have arrived at our accommodation, it's a nice bungalow house by the beach with a white lap siding exterior and white smooth interior accentuated with cream colored furnitures. A swing also sits at the front porch which is overlooking the beach front.
"Nice, we have the whole house to ourselves." Danny grins, heading inside first and the rest followed.
"There's three rooms, we'll room by pair..."
"Three? I only see two." David furrows his brows in wonder. There's only two doors leading to two bedrooms and there's no second floor.
"Here's the tent. Race you to the rooms!" Danny hyung casually drops the tent and rushed over to the furthest room to which Jun quickly followed and David Rushing to the last one with Jaden hyung.
"I guess we're using the tent." I commented.
"I guess we are." Sam and I looked at each other and laughed. Shaking my head, I squatted down and unzipped the bag "do you want to stay indoors?"
"Yeah, I don't think I can take the cold of the midnight breeze outside." It was spacious enough so we can pitch the tent inside the living room. I nodded as I begin to take out the materials from the bag.
"It's been so long so we got together like this." He mused as we assemble the tent. We went to different universities after graduating highschool, me, partly to try and make sense of how I truly feel towards him which just got confirmed with his absence. What he really means to me.
"I missed you." I was fighting with the tent pole, bending it to slip into the hole when he said that making me loose my strength and the pole smacking ne in the face.
"Sst." I hissed and he quickly ruffled his bag to find his travel-sized first aid kit that he always brings ever since.
"Ya, you should be careful. Good thing the pole's not rusty." He says after he examined the pole that hit me and stood up to face me again.
"Let me see." He grabbed my jaw to check my face and there's just a tiny scratch on the lower right, near my jaw. He took some earbuds and squirted some ointment on it the held my jaw again, so he can put it on my wound.
I silently stared at him while he do his thing. He looked the same, but prettier if I do say. His jaw had become more defined, his lashes still long and pretty, his skin smooth as a baby's. He put aside the earbuds and took some band aid but not before blowing on my wound. My heart pounded as his lips formed to a pout, leaning closer as he blew. "I miss you too."
He meets my gaze but unlike I used to, I didn't look away pretending not to be looking, and held his stare. He stops blowing and placed the band aid in place. "There you go."
"Thanks." He nods and turned his back on me to put back his kit on his bag.
"This isn't so bad." Sam comments, putting an arm under his head as he reads a medical book as we lay side my side inside the tent we just pitched.
"Sam, we're here to unwind, why are you studying?"
"Hey—!" He protests as I took away his book and tried to see what he's reading. He chuckled, taking his book back. "You're staring at it like you're looking at math equations."
"No, I'm not. Math, I understand. That?" I shook my head and he laughs, finally putting the book away.
"It's fun! You'll feel overwhelmed if you just scan through it with all the unfamiliar terms and be dejected seeing the thickness of the book but once you understand, it's very interesting."
He goes on and on at how fascinating the things he learn with his pre-medical course, "should I take up a pre-med course too?"
He paused talking and blushed, sheepishly smiling "sorry, I'm geeking out aren't I?"
I chuckled, shaking my head "you're doing fine. I was just teasing, but I'm happy to know you're pursuing medicine because of your passion and not because of your parents."
He sat up, folding his knees up, locking it with his arms. "I guess they still influenced me with them both being in the medical field, and aside from me genuinely liking medicine, I want to succeed with my goal to at least let them have something to hold on to once I disappoint them."
"Once you disappoint them? If you become a doctor I'm sure nothing will disappoint them." I assured him and he just stared at me saying, "I'm not so sure about that. I just hope it won't be too late for me."
I was going to ask him what he meant when Jun hyung and Danny hyung popped up and crawled inside our tent. "What are you guys talking about?"
"Oh nothing, we talked about how you would probably spend more time here than in your room now that the tent's up and you don't have to assemble it." Sam laughed loudly at my response.
"Ya!" I raised my brow at Jun hyung, and he continues "You are absolutely right!" Danny hyung laughs as they wrestled me.
Sam has been laughing as I struggle to break free from the troublesome duo when they both ended up wrestling by themselves, my hair disheveled, and shirt disarray. I pulled Sam just in time before he gets crush from Danny hyung's weight as the wrestling turned jiu jitsu at this limited space.
Sam is still laughing as he proceeds to film the two while I get conscious as I have an arm over his torso while he practically lays his weight on mine.
"Argh!! jun!" Danny hyung taps the ground three times and Jun hyung lets go of him and they sprawled out, panting. Sam looked at me and I was distracted when he smirked, motioning to the two. I snickered, getting what he's thinking and we both rolled the hyungs, kicking them out of the tent and closed it. "Hey!" They whined as we laughed.
"Why'd you have to be so hard on us." Danny hyung complains as we ate our lunch, rubbing his hip bone saying it's sore after we rolled them out quite literally.
"I'd do the same if I were them." I high-fived with David hyung who sat adjacent to me.
"As if you can make us budge." Jun hyung scoffs and it starts another round of bickering between the two.
