SAM
🌊🌊🌊

"Sam, long time no see." David hyung gave me a sideway hug, rubbing my arm and I introduced him to my friends.

"Are you sure you're not twins?" Justin commented and I laughed. "We get that alot."

"Speaking of twins, I want you to meet my girlfriend, Rei, and her twin, Cio." I waved at them and they smiled at me. They're both so cute!

"Come in, you guys must be tired from the long drive." We're at an Inn owned by Jun hyung's family. Jun hyung became Kyle's manager and Danny hyung as Kyle's stylist. I cautiously looked around.

"They're staying at a hotel near the venue."

I looked back to see Jaden hyung and his wife. "Noona!" I ducked down Jaden hyung's open arms and went directly to hug Somi noona.

"Ya!" He whines and I laughed, going back to give him a hug and he ruffles my hair. "Hyung! I'm almost 30."

"You're still our maknae." Somi noona says, pinching my cheeks while Jaden hyung put an arm around her shoulders.

"You must be tired, you still have time to rest before we go." I nodded and excused myself to go inside the room assigned for me. I didn't know Jaden hyung followed me so I was startled when he spoke, "Are you still avoiding Kyle?"

"I have never avoided him. Avoiding him means he needs to approach me first." I smiled, sitting down my bed.

"It's  still avoiding if you can approach him first, but you won't." Touché.

"I've been so busy that all these years— this is my first long break— and so is he. I don't even think he's had a real break." I frowned at the thought of him overworking.

"Fair enough." He nods, heaving a sigh and giving me small smile. "Nice to see you again Sam."

"You too hyung." He went out and I sighed in relief. I wasn't lying about not avoiding Kyle, but I was cautious incase he'll show up with someone.

Every time I come in one of his shows, I was always prepared and ready to meet him but we sadly never get to meet up. If he was free, I  had emergencies to tend to. If I was free, he has another schedule to go to.

Now knowing he's with someone... Tears sprung up my eyes as I lay in bed. "This is your fault. You shouldn't be crying." I whispered but tears kept falling. Maybe this Summer's really the last time I'll have with him.

"Sam? You ready to go? Let's go!!" Justin's impatient knocks came on my door, I didn't realize how long I've been crying.

"Be out in a minute!" I called out as I pulled myself together, getting up to change.

The venue is packed, like really really packed with over fifty thousand attendees. It being a summer festival, it is held outdoors.

"Hyung! I'll buy you a car if what you said earlier is true." Justin yells at Kevin over the loud music.

"Everyone heard it right?" I chuckled and Cio, nods even if he doesn't understand the context. Kevin grins and started looking for cars. "I'll  be kind and not pick something that will make you homeless." He tells justin who is starting to laugh awkwardly, probably not liking how confident Kevin is. "I was just joking!"

"Invalid, jokes are funny. That wasn't." I stifled my laughter and Justin glares, "fine, not like you're really with Asahi anyway."

Justin's competetive and stubborn like that. I shake my head at him when I felt someone loop an arm on mine and grinned at Somi noona. "Whooohooo!" She screams and I laughed, screaming with her along with almost everyone as the program begins.

"ASAHI I LOVE YOUUU!!!" Kevin yells loudly and Asahi looked around and met his eyes— as we were located about four rows from barricade so we were close enough to the stage— and gave him a flying kiss. "That doesn't prove anything!" Justin grumbles.

Travis performed next to Asahi and then it's his time. My heart beats loudly as the colors of the akies changed, it was magical but maybe that's how they decided the line up as Kyle— no, yedam— sings "Purple Sky" as his opening.

As everyone cheers and sings along with him, I stood still, drowning out their voices and only focused on yedam— no, kyle— the one performing happily, with a voice so addicting, that's my kyle. I stared intently at him the whole time as this might be the last time I'll see him this close.

I minded our distance and I was taken back to the time we're inside the lavatory. How the small space seems so large and now, how it seems the the space is too small for both of us.

And then he found me. He just finshed performing his song "In Any Way." My heart stopped and I couldn't look away. I finally got to blink when he turned to his band, seemingly discussing something and then returned to the mic.

"I'm sorry, there's some change of plans for the setlist." Murmurs on the crowd were exchanged but silence followed as he raised his hands. "Instead, I'll be singing two originals that I have not released yet." Cheers erupted and the drummer started the cue.

"This Hard Love Song is for you!" He says and rock filled everyone's ears and people became  more hyped. My brows furrowing in confusion, is it for me? I shook my head, kevin mentioned he's with someone helping him with the lyrics.

"How is it?" Screams of chorused approval from the crowd. "The next one's a bit more toned down than the last one."  He addressed the crowd and once again, his eyes are locked on mine. "Listen carefully. It's called Unrequited Thump."

It's just a song Sam. He once told me that, but  I argued it's never just a song when it comes to him. But maybe I was wrong. Maybe it is just a song. I couldn't finish the song as it causes me more misery to assume that he's singing for me.

"I feel dizzy." I lied, leaning in to whisper to Somi noona's ear. She turned to me in concern and I chuckled, "I'm a Doctor, I'll be fine. I just need to head back earlier." I assured her.

"Oh honey, being a Doctor doesn't make you invincible." She frowns and turned to tell her husband who slightly bent down to hear properly.

"Hyung, I'm really fine. I just need air." I motioned to the bodies among bodies. He stared at me but nodded and I left.
