KYLE
🌊🌊🌊I hear the door open and Sam came out with his hoodie on. "You're awake."
"Why didn't you wake me up?" He huffs, sitting next to me at the swing be. It's already late at night, the hyungs have fallen asleep already, tired from their beach activities.
"You looked tired." I say, taking in the calming sound of the crashing waves in the stillness of the night.
"Let me have some of that" I was caught off guard as he took a swig of the canned beer I was drinking. I can feel the heat creeping from the back of my neck, spreading to my cheeks as I followed his lips touch where mine once was as he took a sip.
I cleared my throat and snatched the drink back, not waiting for him to finish as I stood up. "You have not eaten dinner yet. Come on, I'll cook you something.
"Oh ho~" he teased, throwing an arm over my shoulder as he follows me back inside. "Since when did you learn how to cook?"
"Ever since I made up my mind about you. I don't want to starve you incase our parents disown us if you feel the same way as I do." I wanted to answer, but instead shrugged and nonchalantly say "I'm Kyle."
"Show off." He laughs, playfully pushing me. My heart thudded to my chest as he sits on the counter isle stool, watching me cook for him.
"I'm looking forward to your cuisine chef kyle, just know I'm going to be honest with my critic, it's for your own good and growth." He warns but really, he's not intimidating at all, he looks adorable trying to sound stern.
"Here, eat some kimchi so you stop playing Gordon Ramsey" He opens his mouth as I feed him the side dishes I prepared before hand. I should've cooked his dinner ahead too but I didn't know when he'll wake up and freshly made food tastes so much better. Especially if it's ramen.
"Mm~ Did you make this?" His eyes comically grew round as he nods approvingly.
"Does it pass your standards?" He gave me a thumbs up.
"Do I?" Shoot, I said that out loud didn't I?
I busied myself with the ingredients and followed, "pass the standards as a chef?"
He snorts, "It's just a side dish that anyone can make, I have yet to try your main dish before I make judgements."
"Bon appetit." I say as I serve the kimchi fried rice. I folded my arms om the counter top and leaned in as I watch him take a bite.
"How is it?" I anticipated and he gulps, before answering
"It was ok..." he gave me a look and we busted out laughing, I reached out and wiped the mess he made beside his mouth.
"oh, sorry." He chuckled, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand then continued to finish his food.
"It's good! You're ready to spoil your future wife." He teased, picking up his now empty bowl, carrying it over the sink.
"I'll wash it later." I tried to take the dish from his hand but he moved away, spanking my hand.
"You cooked for me. It's about right that I do the dishes." I turned off the faucet and he turns it back on and I turn it off again. I didn't let go of the faucet this time and he tries to pry my hand away but he's my paper doll, of course he can't make my hand budge.
"Kyle." He turned to glare with his hand still resting on mine. So close...
"Ah!" He glares some more as I flicked his forehead, and walked towards the stove where the ramen is starting to cool down.
"Who says you're done eating paboya, we're still having ramen." I carried the pan outside while he follows me with the utensils and drinks.
"Cheers." He tilted his canned beer to me and I bumped it with mine. He took a sip and reached for the ramen, blowing it and taking a bite, slurping it. He sighs, letting out the steam and chews, nodding.
"Now this is life." I smiled, slowly bringing the can of beer to my lips and peeled my eyes off him, leaning back and enjoy the breeze.
He heaves a sigh and turned my attention back to him. "That was some sigh."
He looked at his can and played with the rim, heavung another sigh. "Something bothering you?"
"Have you ever wanted to have a sibling? I wonder if it would've been easier."
"Could be, but you could end up having a brother like Jun hyung." We looked at each other and laughed. Having a brother like Jun hyung might add to our stress.
"But he'll share your burden and fight for you." He adds and I agreed
"I can fight for you. Tell me when." I rolled my shoulders and he laughs.
"Want to go for a walk?" I cocked my head towards the beach and he nodded, drinking all of what remains in his drink and got down on the swing.
We walked in silence, side by side. Our feet drenched as the waves comes and goes, our hands brushing every now and then and my hand twitches, wanting to hold his.
"Move here." I say, tugging his wrist so I'll be the one next to the open sea but he stood his ground like I knew ge would. "Nah, I like this side."
"Then I'll hold your hand like this so you won't get swept by the waves." I intertwined his hand with mine and it fits perfectly. He laughs saying he's not that weak but didn't let go of my hand.
