"Literally, I promise, Prongs, it wasn't me, it was M."

"Gago, why are you blaming me, Sirius!?"

Mariah turned off the recording, "will never forgive you, Sirius, trying to convince James that I used his eucalyptus shampoo." She murmured to herself, putting the audio recorder in her bag.

Mariah looked up, seeing some more books to pack in her luggage, so she started to walk over to the small pile, letting out a soft sigh.

"Welp, in my luggage you go, books." Mariah spoke to the books, which kinda looked weird, but who was to judge? So Mariah picked up the pile of books and brought them to her luggage, that had the initials R.A.B.

She couldn't help but smile a little bit when she saw the initials, "I miss you, my love.." She whispered softly, her hands caressing the golden initials; as you may already know, it's been twelve years since Regulus Black, was presuumedly dead. Albeit, Mariah has been taking grief in a healthy way, there are times when his death takes a toll on her, particularly when his death anniversary comes around.

Mariah let out a soft sigh, looking up from the luggage; once again, she was packing her stuff, going back to hogwarts to teach, which she's been doing for the past nine years.

She had a small, sad smile on her face, as she reminised her days back in hogwarts.

FLASHBACK

Mariah was walking around the school grounds, on her patrol when she saw a figure in the astronomy tower.

Curious, she went back inside the castle and the direction to the astronomy tower, her steps making soft clicks on the stone floors of the school as she walked closer to the tower.

Once she reached the tower, she walked up the stairs quietly as to not startle the figure at the top of the tower, so when she finally the person, she was quite shocked to see a fourth year boy from Slytherin house.

"Hey, mate, you're not supposed to be up, it's past curfew, you should head to bed or I'll have to give you detention." Mariah said, crossing her arms as she spoke to the younger boy, her voice gentle yet stern.

"Uhm... can you give me a few more minutes, Miss..." the boy turned around to face Mariah, his voice sounded like a melody, it was soft, just like his gray eyes that sparkled in the moonlight, which reminded of Sirius, but they were less fox-like, and mischievous, just soft, tired eyes.

"Adelaide." Mariah spoke.

"Miss Adelaide." He repeated.

Mariah uncrossed her arms, letting them drape to her sides as she looked at the raven haired beauty infront of her; how her heart started to beat a lot more faster when they locked eyes, albeit it was certain that he didn't want to be in her presence, he was only showing respect because Mariah was a prefect and older.

"I suppose a few more minutes won't hurt, but you promise to head back to your dorm?" Mariah murmured gently as she waited for the boy's reply.

"I guarantee, Miss Adelaide." He nodded and turned back around to watch the stars.

Mariah stood there, not knowing what else to do, but she wasn't going to leave, she would stay and wait until those few minutes were up, "well, you might as well tell me your name, I'm Mariah." She spoke up, leaning against the railing with a gentle gaze.

The boy tensed up, as if he thought that Mariah would've left by then, he hesitated for a few seconds before he answered, "Regulus. Regulus Black."

"Regulus... Like the star?" She asked, trying to make some small talk with Regulus. The way she spoke his name, it rolled off her tongue gently.

"Yeah, like the star." He nodded, he felt a burning sensation in his heart, though, he thought, it must've been disgust, after all, Mariah is a half-blood, he's only showing her some basic human decency because she was his upperclassmen.

Mariah nodded to herself and smiled softly as her gaze turned to the floor, "that's cool, uhm, I, myself, actually really like astronomy..." she was able to muster out without sounding awkward.

"Is that so? I don't really meet many... people who enjoy astronomy." Regulus mumbled out as his eyes diverted from thr sky to the girl beside him. "What's your, uh, favourite constellation..?" He asked in a firm voice, yet it still sounded like music to her ears.

Mariah thought for a moment, she didn't really have a favourite one to be frank, but if she were to pick it would have to be... "Boötes." She answered truthfully as she turned to meet his gaze.

"Hm.." Regulus hummed in awknowledgement while his eyes were fixated on her, especially her eyes, "Are your eyes orange?" He suddenly asked.

"Hm? Oh, no, actually... My eyes are like, a hazel-amber." She chuckled sheepishly as she turned to face the stars, a small smile creeping up to her face.

Regulus nodded and turned his head back to the sky, though, he didn't like Mariah, he would have to admit, the half-blood was pretty interesting to say the least; she liked astronomy, she was also a prefect, and from what he knew, she was good friends with Sirius, and his friends.

Thr both of them didn't say anything else and just watched thr stars in silence and peace.

Something that no witch or wizard was used too, as it was a dark period for them. Something worse than Grindelwald's reign of terror...
Lord Voldemort.

END OF FLASHBACK

Mariah went out of her daydream once she realized it was time to leave her home and back to hogwarts she'd go.

she sighed and stood up, grabbing her luggaged and backpack, then left her house to go back to hogwarts.
"this is going to be an interesting year..." She whispered to herself as she opened her door.
Someone special was joining Hogwarts this year: our mini prongs is finally eleven years old.

It was going to be a really long year in Hogwarts, now that Harry Potter was joining Hogwarts.
