Worth it

Chapter 1

"Kaia!" Somebody screams, waking me up from my daze. "Hey, we're on in 10 minutes, you need to get ready." Daz tells me, patting my back.

Sitting up on the couch I dozed off on, I sit up, grabbing a cup of water. Realization quickly setting in, I'm about to play Wembley stadium in 10 minutes, no fucking way.

"Koof! Let's go!" Grace yells grabbing her bass. "We're about to fucking rock this place babe!" She exclaims pulling me off the couch. Grabbing my Gibson Explorer I follow her out the door of our backstage room and out onto the stage, right before the lights turn on.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

"Arghhh..." I groan waking up to my alarm that ruined my amazing dream. Shifting over so I can reach my phone to turn it off I stare at the ceiling.

Eventually I sit up deciding to start my day, after pulling the sheets off I move over to fit on my prosthetic leg going through the very annoying process I deal with every day, but hey I can still walk so it's all good! I thought sarcastically.

Today I am taking a 'vacation' to London, to see my sister, and watch her play football. To be honest I don't think it's a vacation when the weather of the place your going to is colder, and wetter, but it's to see Caitlin, so I can't really complain too much.

As I walk into the living space of my apartment I'm met with the sight of rocky, my golden retriever sleeping on the couch. He's only 3 years old but like me, he loves his sleep, and no matter where he is, tries to get it in. However, he always knows when I leave my room because as soon as I walk over he's already opened his eyes.

"Hey buddy," I say patting his head before making my way over to the fridge to get myself water, and to give him some food.

Humming to myself as I prepared Rocky's food I though about how excited he'll be when Jamie gets here to take him over to her house.

Placing down his food bowl I pat his head as he immediately goes for the food in the bowl. After he finishes up I grab his leash and collar. When he sees them his tail starts wagging happily. "Alright bud, it's walk time!" I say clipping the leash to his collar.

The walk is pretty peaceful, I've got my headphones in and Rocky is just happy to be out of the house. At certain points Rocky and I are greeted by neighbors before we make it back home. As we turn on our street I spot Jamie's car out front.

"Guess who's here buddy!" I exclaim to Rocky who looks at me crazily. "You get to spend time with Aunt Jamie bud!" Rocky's ears perk up at the mention of her name, and when we reach the front door it opens to reveal my oldest sister. Rocky bolts to her immediately almost pulling me down. Jamie just smiles as she reaches down to give him all the love in the world.

"Rocky!" She exclaims happily pulling my dog into a hug. "Wow sis, knew you loved the dog more than me." I joked making Jamie look at me. "No I don't, but maybe I will after I have him for a week." She responds pulling me into a hug. "It's good to see you Kai." She mumbles into my shoulder. "Same." I respond.

I spend the next 2 hours making sure that Rocky has everything he needs before I am forced (against my will) to go the airport by Jamie.

"He's fine! And if he isn't I'll call you." She says pushing me out the door towards my car. "Now, do you have everything?" She asks. "Yes Jamie, I have everything." I roll my eyes. Jamie chuckles. "Good, now go, I'll see you when you get back. Enjoy bothering Cait for a week." I laugh. "I will!"

The ride to the airport is relatively short, and after an annoying hassle at security I am finally able to make it to my gate just in time to board.

The way to long flights I have to take are annoying, but a day later, I am in London, ready to bother my other sister, who meets me at the airport.

"Kai!" Caitlin exclaims rushing over to me. I sigh as she pulls me into a hug, very fucking exhausted from the trip. Caitlin holds onto me even tighter and I let out an exasperated sigh. "Hey Cait." I mumble into her shoulder before letting out a yawn.

"Alright, let's get you back now." She says grabbing my suitcase from me, which I'm not gonna complain about. Caitlin makes her way over to her car and I follow, shivering from the cold air. "Jesus Cait, it's fucking freezing!" Caitlin laughs.

"It's only October, it gets worse."

"Fuck."

The ride to Caitlin's place feels short because I slept the entire time. Eventually pulling into her driveway I am shook awake by my sister. "Hey, we're here." Caitlin pulls me out of the car and we walk into her house.

As we walk in I notice somebody sleeping on the couch. Caitlin turns to me. "It's just Lia, let me take you to your room."

Caitlin leads me down the hallway and into an open door that leads to a bedroom. "This used to be Lia's room, but now it's a guest room." I nod. "The bathroom is just across from here, now get some sleep sis, I know you're tired." She says pulling me into a hug. "Night Cait."

It's short, but I wanted to get it out, hopefully there will be an update that is longer next week.
