Ayana was in a shitty mood, sure she always managed to be happy while at school but this time she wasn't. She herself didn't know why she was acting like this, it's not like her entire family died or something. She saw both Xeno and Asia discuss something together as they whispered, occasionally looking back at her, that's how she knew they were talking about her. But honestly she couldn't really find herself giving a shit, because one thing is that she had no right to be in such a bad mood. She at least helped the work to distract herself and maybe feel better. Sure she wasn't too fond of doing her class work nor her homework, but if she wanted to become a doctor in the future, she'd need good grades.

She lifted her head up as she saw the Professor walking to the group next to their own, he was whispering what their group project was assigned on and seemed to be scolding them to do it otherwise they'd fail his class. She started to wonder if he even had favorite students, surely he did? Although she had her doubts on that she just sighed and put her head slightly down into her arms which were crossed together to act as a pillow. She saw Jacob staring at her from across the room, sticking out his tongue at her. She just rolled her eyes and turned her head the other way so she wasn't looking at him. Xeno and Asia seemed to stop talking when they saw the Professor coming up to them, though his face turned into a small smile when he saw Ayana. Why? She didn't know.

The Professor went to their table and put both hands on the table, looking at Xeno and Asia expectantly with that stern look on his face again, looking at Ayana as his smile reappeared. "Ah, my favorite student!" He said, giving her a closed eye smile. She was oddly weirded out by this. He opened his eyes and continued on. "So you three have a special project." He said, though before saying "special" he covered the side of his mouth with his hand so the other groups couldn't catch it even if they tried. "Special?" Ayana asked, now curious and quite excited by this. She loves when she gets the chance to do stuff no other people got the chance to do. It was as if the teacher wanted her to be happy because her mood was immediately uplifted. She didn't know the dangers of this.

"Yes, special. No other students are doing this special project, all except you three!" He whispered, looking to his side making sure other people didn't hear them, However Angel was eying their group weirdly as if he knew what the teacher was doing. It unsettled her, and not in a good way. He looked as if he already knew everything, he noticed her gaze and his face hardened. He definitely wasn't in a good mood. Seems as if he was always in a bad mood however, but she didn't really question it. He was practically like a rock, never once wanting to talk about anything. She just shook her head as the Professor looked at her expectantly, glancing at Angel too while his face too hardened. He was now having a stare down match with Angel, to which Angel just gave up on and looked back at his group mates.

The Professor looked back at them with a small grin now. "Anyway, your project will be about… a 23 year old case. You will search sources online and do your own research for this project." He announced, but saying the word "research" weirdly, why did he? "So I hope my top students can do this, after all you three are the top of my class, I expect a lot from you three." He declared. It made Ayana feel odd, but she chose to ignore it. She didn't know what the other students were assigned from Professor Rodriguez, so she had her suspicions. But of course, it didn't make sense either. It was best to just ignore it. Though that's where she was wrong. Their journey was just beginning. And it wouldn't be fun.
