Regulas arrived at Number 12 Grimwald Place with a sense of trepidation, his heart heavy with anticipation and fear, but the familiarity of the place only seemed to heighten his unease. The house loomed before him, its dark windows like empty sockets in a skull, and the air was thick with the smell of decay He took a deep breath, steeling himself for the inevitable disappointment that awaited him inside. As he opened the creaky front door, he was greeted by the same Lavish house that he had grown up in over the years. everything in sight was even more expensive than the house. The once-grand staircase was now little more than a rickety wooden structure, and he could hear the sound of footsteps echoing through the empty halls.Regulas made his way into the living room, where he found his parents sitting on the plush sofa, each engrossed in their respective papers. They didn't even look up when he entered the room, and for a moment, he wondered if they had even noticed he was there. He cleared his throat, but still, no one looked up
."Hello?" he said, a little louder this time. His voice echoed in the cavernous room, bouncing off the walls and ceiling. Still, there was no response. He tried again, this time calling out his mother's name."Mother?" he said, feeling a pit of dread forming in his stomach. Father?"Finally, his mother looked up from her phone, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She barely glanced at him before returning her attention to the newspaper. His father didn't even acknowledge his presence.Regulas stood there for a moment, unsure of what to say or do. He felt a wave of frustration and anger wash over him, but he bit his tongue. This was nothing new; he had been dealing with their neglect and indifference for years."I'm here for the holidays," he said finally, trying to make his voice sound neutral. "Did you forget?"His mother let out a bitter laugh
. "Of course not, dear," she said, her voice thick with sarcasm. "We were just so excited to see you that we couldn't tear ourselves away from our work."Regulas felt a hot flush of anger rise within him. He had been trying to maintain some semblance of a relationship with his parents over the years, but it seemed like they were determined to push him away. He forced himself to remain calm. "I brought some presents," he said, nodding towards the bag he was carrying. "I thought you might like them."His mother looked up from her newpaper again, her eyes narrowing. "Oh, really?" she said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "How thoughtful of you. I'm sure we'll be absolutely delighted."Regulas felt his temper flare. He forced himself to take a deep breath and count to ten before responding. "I thought you might," he said, trying to keep his voice level. "I put a lot of thought into them."His mother rolled her eyes and went back to her newspaper, clearly dismissing him. His father didn't even look up from his work. Regulas felt a wave of frustration wash over him. He had always been a good son, had always tried to please them, but it seemed like no matter what he did, it was never enough. He forced himself to set down his bag and walk over to the fireplace. He stared into the crackling flames, trying to find some solace in their warmth. But all he could think about was how alone he felt, how unloved and unwanted. Tears stung at the corners of his eyes, but he refused to let them fall.He heard his mother get up from the sofa, her heels clicking on the hardwood floor. "Regulas," she said, her voice cold and distant. "You really should have stayed away."Regulas turned to face her, feeling a stab of pain in his heart. "I wanted to see you," he said, trying to keep his voice steady. "I thought we could spend some time together."His mother's eyes narrowed, and she let out a harsh laugh. "Oh, Regulas," she said, shaking her head. "You really are a disappointment. Just Like your Brother Sirius."Regulas felt a sharp pain in his heart at the mention of his brother. Sirius had been the golden child, the one who could do no wrong in their mother's eyes, that was until Sirius came out as gay."What about Sirius?" he managed to choke out, trying to keep his voice steady. His mother's eyes flashed with anger, and she took a step closer to him. ," she spat. "Your brother was a disgrace, and he brought nothing but shame upon this family. He was a sinner, and God has punished him for it."Regulas felt a chill run down his spine at his mother's words. He had never seen her like this before. She was usually so controlled, so coldly distant. But now, her emotions were raging, and he could see the hatred in her eyes.He took a step back, feeling the heat from the fireplace against his back. "I-I don't understand," he stammered. "What did Sirius do?"His mother's eyes flashed with anger, and she took a deep breath to steady herself. "Your brother was a sinner," she said through gritted teeth. "He was unnatural, and he brought shame upon this family."Regulas felt his heart sink. He knew that his mother didn't approve of his brother's lifestyle, but he never imagined that she would be so hateful. He took another step back, feeling the heat from the fireplace burning against his skin. he ran to his room now letting the tears fall, hearing his mother yelling from behind him. He didn't know what to think, he didn't know how to feel. All he knew was that his family was falling apart, and he was powerless to stop it.He sat on the edge of his bed, trying to process what had just happened. His mind was a whirlwind of emotions: shock, sadness, confusion, anger. He couldn't believe that his mother could be so cruel, so heartless. He thought back to the happy times they had shared, the times when they were a close-knit family. But those memories seemed like they were from a different lifetime, a different world.Regulas packed up all his things and called for kreacher. "I'm leaving and am not to come back." it said. He didn't say why he was going to Potter Manor, but he needed to get away from the coldness and the hate that filled his own home.As he walked down the familiar streets, he couldn't help but feel a sense of relief. The houses around him were still standing, but they all seemed to be crumbling in some way. It was as if the very foundations of the wizarding world were shaking, and he couldn't do anything to stop it.He arrived at Potter Manor and took a deep breath, trying to steady his nerves. He knew that things were different here, that this was a place of love and acceptance. But he also knew that he was walking into the lion's den, and he wasn't sure how they would react to him.As he approached the door, it swung open, and there stood Fleamont Potter, "Regulas," he said, a warm smile spreading across his face. "It's good to see you."
"Hello, Mr. Potter," Regulas replied, returning the smile hesitantly. He stepped inside, taking in the warmth and familiarity of Potter Manor. It was a far cry from the cold, empty house he had just left.
"where is everyone else?" he asked, glancing around. He could hear the sound of laughter coming from another room, and the smell of freshly baked cookies wafted through the air.
"They're in the great hall," He replied, leading the way. with that Regulas now lived with the potter they took him like they had his brother.
