Rachel Harris was driving down the lonely backroads, happy to avoid the traffic and enjoy the view as she drove easily through the twists and turns of the gravel dirt road.

She was on her way to Lockton, a small town on located on the boarder between the US and Canada.

Lockton was a place filled with large and vast farmland, beautiful mountains, family owned small businesses, and tons of gossip.

In the winter it was picturesque with the snow and made Christmas even more perfect and beautiful. In the summer, the weather was so clear that Rachel loved to go hiking and horseback riding. But if she had to admit, Fall was her favorite season here.

Walking as colorful leaves fell around her, enjoying a good book while sipping her pumpkin spice latte, and most of all. Watching the rainstorms. It was one of those things that you could only get off an asmr video. There was just something so peaceful to Rachel about listening to the rain and watching as it fell.

Rachel had practically grown up in Lockton but then had left when she was eighteen to go to college when she got early admission to Johns Hopkins. Now she was on her way back, after living in New York for about 10 years.

She had earned her degree in nursing, with a specialty in helping expectant mother's.

It's not that she hated New York. She had actually grown fond of it.

But Rachel missed the small town life and she also felt her calling as a nurse was better served in the town of Lockton.

Not to mention it was easier to runaway than deal with the mess that was waiting for her back in New York.

Rachel had been in a relationship with her ex, Mitchell Logan, for two years. He was a resident at the hospital Rachel had been working at.

But when she caught him with stolen pills bottle from the pharmacy. She couldn't handle it.

Rachel broke it off with Mitchell and said that she wouldn't put up with him if he was a druggie and that if he didn't admit fault, then she would report him.

She didn't  know how he did it, but he had managed to squeeze his way back into her life. Making Rachel believe that he would never do it again.

And she believed him. Then he came home one night from a party and began screaming at her, and threatened to kill her and then himself. Apparently he had taken a bad batch of cocaine at the party.

Mitchell had beat her and then held her at knife point for hours until Rachel was able to finally talk him down. Once Mitchell had passed out. She ran to a neighbor's and called the police.

It pained Rachel to see Mitchell that way but he needed help and she couldn't live in fear of him like that. The next day when she reported what had happened to the hospital board where she had also found out that Mitchell had never reported himself the first time about the drugs like Rachel had told him too.

Between the chaos of her job and the drama with Mitchell. Rachel couldn't take it anymore and she called her Uncle up.

He offered her a job as his nurse at his small private practice in her home town and she jumped at the offer immediately.

At heart, Rachel knew she was always going to be that small town girl. Especially as she smelt the beautiful clean woodsy air while she drove, Rachel could help but smile and say to herself, "Welcome Home."
