Jake's POV:

I was looking at my phone about to hit send but then my dad opened the door. "Hey Jake I'm heading out. Also what the hell did I tell you about keeping all these dolls in the house" My dad says grabbing one of the dolls and throwing it at me. It hit my arm but it didn't hurt that much. God he's already drunk and he's not even at the bar. "Yeah I'm working on it. Also how long are you gonna be out?" I ask picking up the doll and putting it on my desk. "I'll be back tomorrow morning here's some money if you need to buy any food." He says putting a 50 dollars on my desk. "Thanks, love you" I say.

"Yeah no problem bye" he says leaving. I hear him walking down stairs then I hear him start the car and leave. I just sit there grabbing my phone and deleting my message to Devon and I text Nadine instead.

Jake: My dad just left so if you wanna come over early you can

Nadine: Well I don't think I can because I just told Lexy I liked her

Jake: YOU WHAT?!
Jake: wait... how, when, where, and why???

Nadine: it kinda just happened at Lexy's house we were talking and it led to me telling her that I like her and she said that she liked me back

Jake: oh wow my gaydar was really off

Nadine: stfu, your gaydar was off when at one point you thought Devon was straight

Jake: okay you got me there but what's happening right now?

Nadine: you know we're just talking

Jake: istg I don't want to third wheel you two

Nadine: Well let's just say you don't have to...

Jake: wdym?

Nadine: :)

Jake: what did you do?

Nadine: we invited Devon

Jake: YOU WHAT?!

Nadine: also we're meeting at my Lexy's house now because I know you'll start stress cleaning everything

Jake: NO NO YOU ANSWER MY QUESTION WHY DID YOY INVITE DEVON

I was staring at the message Nadine sent me. I was shocked, but she was right. If Devon was coming over here I would be stress cleaning everything. I then looked back at the twenty dollars and I typed his number in my phone again and this time I'm actually gonna try to text him.

Jake: Hey, it's Jake the one you gave the twenty dollars too

I stared at the message and I hit sent. I just stared at my phone waiting for a response. I was sitting there for five minutes looking at my phone until I got a notification on my phone.

Devon Evans

Devon: Oh hey, I didn't know if you saw my number on it or not but I'm glad you did :)

Jake: yeah it was the first thing I saw

Devon: yeah that makes sense also Lexy said you're coming over to her place to hang out

Jake: Yeah her and Nadine invited me over

Devon: Coolio and also same

Jake: Coolio :)

Me and Devon were texting non stop until he said he had to go get ready to head over to Lexy's house. I then realized I had to get ready too. I put my flannel on and put my black vans on. I then make sure that my hair looked good and I grabbed my keys and I called an Uber to drive me to Lexy's house.

I was at Lexy's house and I knocked on the door and Nadine opened the door. "Hey Jake you're here before Devon so you can go make sure your hair looks good before he's here" Nadine says smiling and letting me in. "Shut up and also that is a good idea" I say going up to a mirror and making sure my hair looks good. Thankfully it did look good, well that's what Nadine and lexy told me. Then there was a knock on the door and I immediately went over to the door and opened it.

When I opened the door it was Devon standing there wearing the same thing he was wearing earlier from today. "Oh my god hey Jake we haven't talked in years" he said sarcastically. "We haven't we need to catch up on every single thing" I say going along with the joke.

"We're here too you know?" Lexy says walking up behind me. "Also we have that math homework we need to work on" Nadine adds. I look at Devon and let him in.

We all started working on the math homework and we were all just talking about random things. At one point me and Devon started talking about how we both like horror movies and about our favorite horror movie characters. After we all finished the math homework me and Devon had to go. Nadine planned on staying the night at Lexy's so me and Devon were the only two leaving.

We walked out of Lexy's house and I was going on my phone about to call an Uber. "You know you don't have to call an Uber I can just drive you home" Devon says pulling out his keys to I'm guessing either his car or his mom's car that he borrowed. "Well I don't want to waste your gas to just drive me home" I say. "Well I don't mind also I would like to talk to you more about your opinions on fear street" Devon says. And I would also like to talk to him more so it wouldn't hurt. "Actually I would like a ride home" I say smiling.

Devon opens the car door open for me and I get into the car. Devon gets in the car and puts on some music. I recognized the music that was playing sunsetz by cigarettes after sex. The song is perfect timing because the sun is starting to set. The sunset is always pretty; whenever I looked at the sunset I thought of Devon. "You know, you remind me of Deena and she reminds me of you" Devon says breaking my thought.

I look over at him and the sun shining on him. He just looked perfect, the sun was shining on his skin so perfectly. His eyes were a bright brown and more vibrant than usual. He really was beautiful, I was just staring the whole time. I grabbed my phone and I took a photo of him. "Hey did you just take a photo of me?" Devon says while he stopped at the red light. He looked over at me and I was looking straight back at him. "Well it's just the sun reflecting on you and you looked really pretty" I say quickly. "Jake it's fine, can I see the photo though?" Devon says putting a hand on my shoulder.

I opened my phone and showed him the photo. "Wow I do look good, can you send that to me?" He asks taking his hand off my shoulder and starts to drive again. "Oh yeah of course. Also you think I remind you of Deena?" I ask just remembering that comment. "Yeah you're just Deena coded, you know?" Devon says. "Thanks, I love Deena" I say. "Yeah I really love Deena too" Devon says back.

After a few minutes of us talking Devon dropped me off at my house. I waved goodbye and when he left I went in my house and straight up to my room. I fell on my bed with thoughts filling my head. All the thoughts were just the same thing. Me just thinking about every word he said to me and every word I said to him. Every little interaction from him holding my hand closed from earlier this morning to when he put his hand on my shoulder in the car. God I have a problem, then I heard my phone buzz. I picked up my phone and saw a notification. The notification was from Devon.
