Frivolous flashes of light spark up the sky. This causes the crowds of people to gasp and point to the panoramic windows. the setting outside feels bright. Fire crackers jolt up the midnight black sky.

The only view more magnificent than the atmosphere of the sky, was the attire worn by the crowd. Soft and gaudy colors contrast and blend in the whirls of fabric. Off the center of the candle tipped ballroom, a band plays a merry tune suiting the occasion. All things bright and joyful spring to the forefront of the scene.

Rajkumari Bela, eldest Rajkumari of Bharama, watches the scene quizzically. Her hands smooth over the ornate silk wrapped around her petite body. Subtle flashes of light catch on the crystals on her outfit. She smooths a hand over her dark hair and glances towards the chandelier charming the ceiling of the gigantic room. Graceful laughter and conversations were heard all around her, but she was hesitant to join the festivities.

One reason could be that she was shy, but that could not be the case. She knew a lot of the royals in the room and they knew her personally too. She was quite popular with the crowd.

Maybe the true reason was her glancing to her right ever so often, her dark brown eyes landed on another individual. They stood with no company just as she did. The one she was discretely glancing at was a woman in a heavy lush cloak and wore the attire of a more 'masculine' stature. Her clothes were dark and didn't seem to catch the bright lights of the room like the rest of its occupants. It rather seemed to capture the light in its dark fold and swallow it. She held a goblet in her hands at the present moment.

Bela had never talked to her before, all she knew of her was that she was from the Dynasty of Torukaz. She had seen her descend her carriage earlier. Something about her drew the princess in, something about her black eyes and the way she held her head. her raven hair tumbled down her shoulders but was swept back from her pale face. Bela found herself drawn to her and soon she stood right before her.

"Greetings, I am Rajkumari Bela." She introduced herself with a graceful bow. She surprised herself with this move. She wasn't the one making hasty decisions, and this one looked as if she hadn't put a second of thought into it. She would have mentally berated herself for this folly but not tonight.
