More than Friends (Chapter 2)

Plot: Noticed friendship, unnoticed feeling. Friendship stays forever, however, can it be on the next level? To be more than BEST FRIENDS?

Days passed and it was Saturday. As soon as I woke up and changed my clothes. I went straight to Miharu's house. I rang the doorbell and her mom greeted me.

"Hello, Yamada-kun, come in." She said.
"Where is Miharu-chan?" I asked her as I stepped in to their house.

"She's still sleeping in her room. Go wake her up for me okay?" She smiled. I got confused, why was she still sleeping if she had a date with someone she really likes?

I went upstairs and reached her room. I opened the door and there she was, sleeping soundly. I sat on her bed and watched her silently. I brushed her hair on her forehead and I startled when she began to move. She slowl opened her eyes.

"Ryo-chan, why are you here?" She sat up and rubbed her eyes. Suddenly I though, why am I here?

"I thought you have a date with Yuto-kun?" I said trying to hide the fact that I don't want her to have a date with him because I want it to be me who's dating her.

"Ah.. He said he have nsomething to do. He phoned me last night." Now, she was scratching the back of her neck.
"Why Ryo-chan?" She looked at me.
"Nothing." I faked a smile. "Oh, but he said we'll set another day for that date." She said smiling and got up from her bed.
"What??!!" I said without thinking. It just escaped my mouth. She looked at me, confused.

"Eh? What king of reaction is that?" She said. I stood up trying to think of a reason. Then I looked at her, she was giggling. "What?" I asked her.
"You're jealous, right?" She said teasingly.
"I'm... I'm not!" I said stuttering and blushed. She moved closer to me and pinched my cheeks.
"Don't worry. I still love you."
"You love me?"
Yes, of course. You're my bestfriend." She smiled and let go of my cheeks. Yeah, "bestfriends". I just smiled at her. We went downstairs and ate the breakfast made by her mom.

It's Sunday now, and my phone rang. It was her.
M: Hi Ryo-chan! Ohayou!
R: Ohayou Miharu-chan! Why so early?
M: I just to say something.. about our date. :)

It's him again.

R: What about it?
M: It'll be tomorrow! :) So Excited! )

What? Tomorrow? But tomorrow's my birthday?

R: Really?
M: Yup! :) Okay, bye now.
R: Wait!
M: What?
R: Have you forgotten something? Like the event tomorrow?
M: Hmm. None, except for our date. Got to go now. :D Need to buy a dress. Jya~!
R: Jya~!

-Third person POV
Then she hung up. She didn't remember Ryosuke's birthday, that it was tomorrow. He felt sadness and disappointment that the person that should have known him the most, forgot the most important event in his life, which he wanted to celebrate with his bestfriend, Miharu. Ryosuke didn't realize that he was crying until a drop of tear fell from the letter - a love letter - that he was about to give to her on that day. He opened her drawaer and put that letter inside it.

On the other hand Miharu was busy buying a nice dress for her date with Yuto. She visited every store she would passed by. She even bought a gift for Yuto. Then, suddenly, she felt that something was missing. She had forgotten something yet she didn't mind it at all. Evening came when she already got home. Everything was fine and arranged. Tomorrow's a big day.
