Chapter 15: Sadies' Call

A few weeks later, Matthew woke up, but today was no ordinary day. It was the day of the Sadies Hawkins dance, which was an annual event at Sandalwood, hosted during the second week of January. Matthew was excited because since he was a first-year at the school, this was his first Sadies Hawkins dance and his first school dance in general. Matthew was looking forward to this special event. Since it would be his first school dance ever, he knew he had to make the most of it. He swiftly got out of bed and joined his three roommates, Riley, Kaden, and Adam, in the bathroom to shower and clean up. "Hey guys," he said as they all washed themselves, "You guys excited for the dance this Friday?" They all nodded in agreement and expressed how much fun it was going to be. Matthew was relieved since he had been nervous about being around every student in school. He knew this would be the most ideal night to make a positive first impression. "So," said Adam as he crossed his arms and smirked, the shower water still running over him, "Who are you guys taking to the dance, specifically Kaden and Riley?" "Oh well, I met this very handsome fox about a week ago," said Adam, "His name is Sidney, and he's on the school's wrestling team! I'm thinking about asking him out, not just to the dance, but on a date in general!" Riley, Kaden, and Matthew both looked at each other, then back at Adam. They smiled as they hugged him tight, congratulating him on finding a date. "Wow," said Matthew, "That's impressive! Isn't the wrestling team really tough and rough, though?" Adam continued smirking, then leaned against the wall. "Well," he said, "That's why I started working out and acquiring these!" He flexed an arm that was bulging with muscles. "Wow, when did you start doing that?" Matthew asked as he smiled and walked toward Adam, leaning against the wall right in front of him, and facing him.

"Christmas break," Adam replied as he rested an arm on Matthew's shoulder. "Now, I get more guys' attention!" Matthew smiled and looked at Adam in stardom as Kaden and Riley finished their showers and dried off, but then Matthew's expression changed to confusion. "Wait," he said. "Did you say 'guys'?" he asked. Adam nodded his head while pulling Matthew closer, chest against chest. "You didn't know I was gay?" he asked, chuckling. Matthew's face registered shock and he stepped back from Adam. "No, I had no idea," he said, his voice full of surprise. "I guess I'd better start paying attention," he added with a chuckle. Adam turned off his shower and then touched Matthew's cheek. He then leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. Matthew smiled as he savored the anthropomorphic wolf's lips against his. They pulled away and Adam grabbed a towel, dried himself off, then handed it to Matthew. "Thanks," Matthew said, taking the towel. He quickly dried off and they both stepped out of the shower, hand in hand. They shared a passionate embrace and then Matthew said, "Let's go, class is about to start." Adam nodded and chuckled as he kissed Matthew on the cheek, and then they both got dressed and left the dorm. However, while Adam left, Matthew stayed behind to wait for Ashton, who for all he knew, was still showering and getting ready. He walked next door and knocked on Ashton's dorm door. Sid answered and smiled at Matthew. He then informed him that Ashton was in the shower, but he could come in and wait for him to finish. Matthew smiled and thanked Sid, but declined as he was paranoid about running late to class. "Oh, don't worry about that," Sid said. "Since the Sadies Hawkins dance, we have a late start for the entire week, so classes start an hour later than they usually would." Hearing that made Matthew smile, as he realized he could spend more time with Ashton, and more time with his other classmates. He smiled as he hugged Sid tightly, even though Sid was naked, then he walked into the dorm and sat on Ashton's bunk, waiting for Ashton to finish washing up.

A few moments later, Matthew heard the shower turn off. A few moments later, Ashton stepped out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. Matthew smiled at him as they both locked eye contact, and Ashton smiled back. "Hey babe," he said as he walked over to the closet in the room, shared by Ashton and his dormmates to grab his school uniform. "Wait, sweetie," said Matthew as he walked up behind him and embraced him from behind. "Before you get dressed, I just want a nude romantic moment with you. Is that OK?"Ashton nodded, and Matthew kissed him on the neck before leading him to the bed. Ashton felt his heart race as Matthew slowly removed the towel and revealed his naked body. They shared a passionate kiss before Ashton dressed for his school day. Matthew kissed him again before leaving the dorm and walking back to his dorm to get ready as well. Once he got his uniform on, with Riley's help, he and Ashton walked down to the dormitory lobby together, hand-in-hand to get breakfast. Following breakfast, the two parted ways to head to class after sharing another passionate kiss. Ashton felt a rush of emotion as they parted ways. He knew he wouldn't be able to hold him in his arms again until fifth-period class. They promised to stay in touch throughout the day, and Ashton was determined to make the most of his time apart from Matthew. He started by calling up his senior buddies, like Leland, Harald, Tyler, and Zachary. He talked to them on a video call as he walked to his first-period class, and they helped him feel better about not being near Matthew. A smile spread across his face as he walked into his class and ended the call.
