It was nice and calm on the tour bus. People either kept to themselves or hung out in the lounge area. Anna crawled up in her bunk, and called her dad. She left the partition open, since there was nice and quiet in the sleeping quarters.
"Hey daddy, it's Anna," she said when her dad finally picked up the phone.
"Anna, so good to hear your voice. Where are you now?" Dad sounded excited.
"I'm somewhere en route to Chicago on a tour bus. A pretty fancy one, too." She sighed.
"That sounds awesome, Banana. And how is the job?" He asked.
"It's great actually. Less stressful than the clinic, but I get to meet a lot of interesting people." She paused as she saw Eddie crawl up in his bunk opposite her and settle down to read. She gestured if he wanted her to close the partition, but he smiled and shook his head. "Anyway, how ya doin' dad? You good?"
Dad started talking on the other end, but Eddie's chuckle caught her attention. She made a face at him, as he teased her with her Jersey dialect. He was gesturing, making the so-called Italian hand, and saying "How youse guys doin'?" She made a feigned shock face at him and held up her fist. He laughed at her, so she threw her pillow across the aisle almost hitting him in the face. He narrowed his eyes at her and propped the pillow behind his neck, as he settled down to read again. He sent her a triumphant look before he disappeared behind his book.
"Are you keeping up with your meals, dad?" She asked while eyeing Eddie, who was not giving her the satisfaction of seeing his face.
"Don't worry, I'm following the plan. Now you go have fun and email me pictures!" Dad said.
"I love you, daddy," Anna said and hung up.
Eddie lowered his book and looked at her. He had a cheeky, mischievious look on his face. She raised an eyebrow at him, challenging him to make the next move. He chuckled and rolled to his side, so he was facing her.
"What?" Anna said in a sassy tone.
He bit his bottom lip, and held her gaze, that damned cheeky look in his eyes. "Nothing," he said.
"There's something," she said, narrowing her eyes at him.
He made a small shrug. "I love you, daddy. Kinda made me feel some sort of way," he laughed and winked at her.
She stared at him with her mouth open. "Eddie!" She exclaimed and laughed. "Now give me back my pillow," she ordered.
"Come and get it," he challenged her, as he snuggled into the pillow.
She jumped down from her bunk and tried to grab her pillow, but he was faster and stronger than her. So she jumped up into his bunk, and tried her best to pull it away from him.
"Give it back!" She hissed as she tried to get a hold of it.
"No," he said provoking her.
She tried to tickle him, but in the end he ended up pinning her to the bed, holding the pillow up in one arm. They rolled around, and Anna triumphantly ended up on top of him. He laughed and threw her pillow across the aisle into her bunk. She was lying on top of him, slightly out of breath, one hand holding his arm, and the other on his chest. She felt a flutter in her stomach and a warmth in her core. He looked up at her with lust in his eyes, and the confusion she felt was killing her. Was he into her? Did he want her to do something? And how the hell did they end up in this situation?
It would be wrong, however easy it was, she shouldn't do anything. There was a contract between them, and she was his employee.
But then he put his hand on her cheek and ran his thumb over her lips. She licked her lips and took a shaky breath. He put his hand to the side of her and closed the partition. A dimmed light automatically turned on when the partition was closed. He returned his hand to her cheek, cupping it carefully.
