"Mia, you're making a mistake. You don't know anything about this. Anything about what you're doing. I don't want you to get hurt like your sister and mother did. And I especially don't want you to get hut like your brothers will. I suggest you run while you can." He said.
"What are you going to do if I don't? Push me off the bridge like you did to Camille because she knew too much about what an asshole you are?" She challenged. "There would probably be some shitty headline like; 'adoptee kills herself the same way her adoptive sister did.' You'd feel pretty powerful hearing that, wouldn't you?" She smirked.
"I don't want to hurt you but you're leaving me no choice, Mia." He said.
"If you were going to kill me, you would've done it already. You've hesitated so many times."
As Mia continued pushing his buttons, he wasn't having it. The more he looked at her talking the way she was, the more his anger grew. He didn't come here to hurt his youngest daughter, blood or not, but he would if it came down to it.
"I don't want to but if I have to I will. Just like Camille or maybe even worse because what you're telling me is horrible." He said.
"You're a fucking psychopath. You know that? You admitted to killing Camille and her." Although it should've been the last thing on her mind, she still didn't know how to address the woman who raised her. "And as soon as I bring you back to reality it's horrible? Talk about horrible."
"You are crossing a deadly line, Mia."
"Are you going to get it over with already?" She challenged. "You're all fucking talk."
With that, he pulled a gun out of his pocket and held it to his side before pointing it at her.
"Mia!" She heard as she saw a shadow behind him. "Run!"
It was Chris. "Run!" He repeated.
She tried to but she was frozen in place, unable to get her legs to move. It didn't matter though, because his attention was placed on Christian as he turned away from Mia.
"Chris?" His dad said a hint of joy in his voice.
"It's over. You can't hurt Mia. You can't hurt any of us anymore." He said, his voice husky and deadly.
"What are you talking about?" He questioned, as he raised a bushy brow.
"Benjamin and I know everything." He said.
He snickered. "There is no way that you could possibly know everything."
"But we do. Ben and I had our suspicious so we gathered proof. We know what you've done. We know who you are."
"Then who am I?" He smirked.
"You're a murderer." Mia blurted out.
She had no idea why she did but she'd heard enough to already have decided who he really was.
With that, mirroring his earlier movements he lifted his arm and pointed the gun at Mia.
She smirked, "Do it. You took everything from me and you lied to me."
"Mia, get the fuck away from him now. Mia run." Christian called out. She was as w reckless as was. He realized that now.
"He's not going to kill me. If he was he would've done it before you came here."
The man he no longer recognized as his father hesitated before moving closer in range to her. Christian quickly ran over to Mia to knock her out of the way. However, before he could reach her the trigger on the gun was pulled as she collapsed to the ground. The sound doubled up as if two guns had went off at the same time.
The ringing in his ears was enough to make him deaf to his surroundings. The smoke that lingered in the air from the gun made him sick to his stomach. None of that matter, none of the effects the trigger that was pulled seconds ago, had on his body, stopped him from his target. His sister. He needed his little sister to be okay.
"Someone shot me!" Their father called out. "I've been shot."
"You can't mess with us anymore without consequences. You hurt us, you get hurt." Benjamin said. "But this is the last time. The last time you ever hurt anyone."
"You're going to go to jail if you kill me. Even if it was self defense." He said.
"Only civilians go to prison. Not the hero's protecting family." He said. His voice was deep, almost husky.
In the pocket of his black leather jacket, he pulled out a badge and threw it down on the ground in front of him. After he gave his father a second to look at it, he grabbed it and put it back in his pocket.
"Torres, I got him. You check on your sister." His partner called out pulling handcuffs out before calling for paramedics, and putting pressure on his wounds.
"Ben! She's bleeding! She's barely breathing." She was lying still in his lap as she was clearing struggling to breathe.
The sight before Ben's eyes was straight out of a horror movie. Christian's hands were covered in crimson red fluid. It was her blood. In their little sister's. The sight was horrid.
"I have equipment in the car." He said as he quickly ran to his vehicle.
He grabbed a large first aid kit out of the trunk of the car. On his way back, he quickly called for two ambulances to arrive right away on the scene.
