So, I was watching "So You Think You Can Dance" tonight and a guy with a Down syndrome went up there and danced. His name was Cody and he really inspired me to write this.
Can you imagine if you were the one who had a Down syndrome?
There is always that one person....and people behind his/her back are like, "he's so stupid!", "She doesn't even know what life is!!" "He's so dorky when he tries to play sports with us!" "she doesn't even know what 2+2 is..." "Have you seen that guy eat his lunch. He has so much trouble trying to swallow it!"Yes, I have heard people actually say those things or close to that idea. To be honest, I have laughed at Down syndrome people before as well. I absolutely regret laughing at someone for who they are. It doesn't leave a good feeling inside. I don't do that anymore because I've changed....I have a broader spectrum and understanding than I used to of the world.
If you still laugh or gossip about a Down syndrome person...then you are really acting childish. I'm not trying to be rude, but you need to grow up.What if you were that person?
Can you imagine how hard it is for them....not adding the judging of others? Live life to its fullest and enjoy all of it....and all of its people. No matter their race, gender, belief, thinking, smartness, looks, weight, or special needs.
