This theory of what might happen or what has happened in the past, has been guessed over the past weeks. But here is my theory for it.

For my theory, it is a different take so get somewhat comfortable for a long theory.
Alrighty then, as we all know based on the description and pilot, the amazing digital circus is a digital simulation where the humans got trapped after putting the headset on and got trapped. But what if this is not the case, what if the humans are actually just AI, and Caine is the actual human.
In explanation, we know Caine supposedly made the circus; unless, Caine was able to recreate the office because it was his last memory before he was transferred to the digital plain. As all the characters that are there are just all his emotions in different persons to a full consent. In the teaser trailer on the wacky watch website we see Caine in human form and after a lot of glitching he is inside the screen. In the pilot after Kaufmoh was absent in the beginning, we saw Pomni come in or be summoned, later on we see Kaufmoh was abstracted so what if everytime someone is abstracted, a new AI comes in with the same personality but with a different tone or level. As time evolved so had technology so everytime technology advances one personality glitched out and became outdated leaving to abstraction. Pomni means remember, because this came up when the rolling of the name, the game might be telling Caine to remember who he was and the past. While Kinger was there the longest it may actually be Caine's matured self from the real world and his real age, and all the others being other aspects of past or present. The mannequins are there for when the next AI abstracts so there could be one in place of the one abstracted. The program was designed to delete any AI that was glitched and outdated, or in any case driven crazy because that personality realized it was a part of a simulation to keep the REAL human from going insane.
In conclusion or short, Caine is the actual human and all the others are AI that are generated to keep the real Caine from going insane, and giving him a demonstration of all his personalities on a high level.
