"Okay Raze, I do have a place to go; we need supplies. I ran out of food a while back and all I've had was this canteen and the edible plants I wandered upon." Cressida said, thinking Raze might be of use.
"Are you asking or telling me?" Raze asked.
"For goodness sakes, can we not argue again? It hasn't even been 5 minutes. " Cressida exclaimed.
"Sure whatever, but remember a little please never hurts," Raze said as he walked off deeper into the woods.
Cressida started to think to herself as she wandered deeper into the woods in the direction of Raze.
'Who was this guy? Will I have to share water? Who acts like this? Out of everyone why was I the one he ran into, I wasn't looking for anyone to "save me." What could be the best and easiest way to lose him? Then again he could be handy. I might not need someone but a someone could be useful. IDEA! I can lull him into a false sense of security with me. Tell him my past, open him up to talking to me, really make him feel. Then when we make it close to the government facility I can make him do a part of the Plan where he will end up detained. He could be locked up, the government will be ruined or at least start to break, and I could possibly be dead like the rest of my family, maybe they would brainwash me, that would be interesting. Although I would never know, hmm, anyways. Now I just have to figure out how to succeed. '
"Hey Cressida, I think I found something!" Raze exclaimed, his voice coming from behind Cressida.
She started towards where that sound came from, "When did you get behind me?"
"Uh not sure but follow the road up a little ways and check this out." Raze said.
She found her way back to the road and walked up it. It was in bad condition. The asphalt was cracked and faded from the sun. The pavement was broken and had dips into the ground that could hold water if it ever rained again. This is disgusting , Cressida thought. The government was made in the beginning to make sure common people had a say in what governed their lives but nowadays it's basically a monarchy within the rich. I know because I was in the inner circle of that monarchy, or a part of it anyways. I'd give anything to go back to that.
She comes upon Raze now and he's happily making hand gestures that motion to come closer and quicker.
"I'm coming!" Cressida shouts and picks up her pace. She rounds the corner and sees what he is talking about.
"I think it's an old grocery store. It's definitely been broken into, but we might be able to scrounge something!" Raze said.
"If is been scourged through then there is a slim chance we could get anything useful. " Cressida said, looking at the crumbling building disdainfully.
"Hey, don't knock it 'till you try it." Raze said.
"I think you're kinda new to this. Just saying, I probably have more experience and I say there won't be anything in there so why waste our time. Plus what if there is someone in there? " She replied.
"Are you always this depressing? Let's try it anyway. I'm going in with or without you. " He said. Then he promptly turned around and after jiggling with the door frame (there was no handle anymore) he walked in.
"Well, I guess I can't just leave you in there alone, yet." Cressida said. She started to walk into the building.
