Cressida walked into the building. As soon as she entered she thought that there was no chance for anything to be edible or useful in there. As soon as she walked through the cracked doorway and looked to her left, she saw an open, broken cash register. Behind it was where once cigarettes and other tobacco products were kept. Now the little rows where they used to be were empty. Moving along this wall she encountered the old freezers that went to the far wall. Cressida couldn't hear the hum of electricity so she knew they were broken also. Going along this far wall were built in shelves and who knows what they used to hold. Then on the right wall there were the cold freezers that would have been used for produce. The walls were white painted bricks, but the paint was peeling to reveal the corroded underneath. Then right in the center were rows of shelves that once was completetly stocked but now weren't completely bare & in the farthest one to the left, there was Raze. He was looking and grabbing at everything that was left. Probably all spoiled anyway, thought Cressida. Thoughts started pulling her mind into that everlasting darkness again; where was once Cressida was a happy optimistic girl. She used to think & hope for the best. In time's past, when she and her family lived in the house on a hill. Her house was average but her family were very contented there. Her mother was a popular midwife while her father was a government official.
