Taehyung gently holds Eunji's hand.

"I'm sorry," he says softly. "About what I did at the restaurant. I didn't mean to embarrass you."

"Let go of my hand," Eunji replies, her voice cold.

"Not until you forgive me."

"Fine, I forgive you. Now let me go."

"At least let me drop you, home."

But Eunji pushes him away. "I said, leave me!"

She turns to walk away, but suddenly, a raindrop lands on her cheek. She stops, looking up as the drizzle quickly turns into heavy rain.

Eunji stands still, letting the rain wash over her. Taehyung steps closer and gently turns her around. His heart sinks when he sees tears in her eyes.

"Eunji!" he says, worried. "What's wrong? Why are you crying?"

"It's nothing... it's just the rain," she mutters.

"You can't fool me. Tell me the truth."

"Stop it, Taehyung!" she snaps. "Stop asking so many questions."

She turns to leave, but before she can take another step, Taehyung pulls her into a hug.

Eunji's POV

Why is he hugging me?

"Eunji, I know you don't like me," Taehyung says gently. "But to me, you're my friend. You can tell me anything. If it's because of me, I'm really sorry. Just tell me what's wrong."

At that moment, I can't hold back anymore. I break down in his arms, sobbing. The rain soaks us both, but neither of us care.

"Taehyung...?"

"I'm here," he whispers, patting my head. "Shh, don't cry. Just tell me."

Tears stream down my face. "a person ... died because of me."

Taehyung stiffens. His grip on me tightens for a second before loosening. His expression changes, but I can't bear to look at him.

"Stop crying, Eunji," he says softly.

But I can't stop. The pain is too much.

"The day I told him I loved him," I continue between sobs, " it was supposed to be the best day of my life. But it turned into the worst."

Taehyung stays silent, listening.

"I was about to have an accident, but he pushed me out of the way... and he died instead."

My legs give out, and I collapse to the ground. Taehyung catches me before I fall completely.

"Am I really that unlucky?" I whisper brokenly. "Is it so wrong for me to love someone? Is it wrong to fall for someone only to for him to die because of me...."

"Don't say that" Taehyung says firmly. "I'm so sorry for what happened, but—wait!"

I suddenly pull away, realizing what I'm doing. My emotions are all over the place, and I need to get away. I quickly stand up and start walking, my mind spinning.

I step onto the road.

And that's when it happens.

A car comes speeding toward me.

Everything slows down.

Pain shoots through my body as I hit the ground. Lying on the cold pavement, I stare up at the blurry sky. The rain continues to fall, mixing with my tears. In that moment, only one face comes to my mind.
