Chapter 18- A Golden Fiery Pit

       Jim looked over at Mr Scroop who looked like he had gone completely crazy while still lifting Y/n by her hair. "I- I'll kill her... I'LL KILL HER RIGHT HERE!" He screamed as he lifted her higher from her grown.

"Let da girl go Scroop," a familiar voice called out. Jim turned around to see somebody who he thought he knew.

"Stay back Silver!" Jim said.

Mr. Silver paid no attention to Jim. "Let her go Scroop... NOW!" There was nothing left for Silver, not his treasure, not his unloyal crew, not to mention all the trust that Jim had in him. With the trove bursting into flames he had one thing left to do; protecting the ones he cared about.

Silver said as he pulled out his blaster he then shot his hand right off that was holding Y/n, Scoop cried out in pain as he dropped Y/n. "Jim!" Y/n said as she tried to run to him but Mr. Scroop grabbed her by the collar of Jim's jacket, the one she had been wearing with his other claw.

"NO! IF I'm GOING DOWN YOU'RE COMING WITH ME!" He wailed. Just then he pulled Y/n close to his body and leaned over the ship that Jim was trying to start up.

Y/n looked at Jim for the last time as she fell off the ship with Scroop.

"NO!"

Jim and Silver ran over to the edge of the ship to see Y/n and Scroop toppling over the pile of gold. She tried to break free from his claw but he was making sure that they'd both go down.

"SILVER I'VE GOTTA GET HER BACK!" Jim panicked as he looked around the ship for something that could help him. He looked over to see an engine and a scrap of metal. "Help me with this!" Jim yelled as he ran to the materials, "Help me attach it!"

"Alright stay back!" Silver said as he began to weld the pieces together. It only took a few minutes.

"Jim you're never gonna make it in time," Silver explained. "I'm going to move da boat to the exit-

"How do I know you're not going to leave us stranded?" Jim asked as he worked on the rotted engine.

"You're just gonna have to trust me, lad!" Silver simply said. "I'll get da Captain and Doc, get her back and fly to dis ship!"

Jim had no other choice. He nodded as he carried the quickly made glider to the edge of the ship.

Even though Silver had betrayed Jim and Y/n, he still wanted to trust him. Jim looked at the old Cyborg one last time before heading down a golden firey pit.

Jim glided across the mountains of Treasure looking for Y/n, just then he spotted her being dragged down by Scroop.

Jim pressed on the gas as he leaned forward, "Y/n!" He called out.

Y/n looked up relieved to see Jim coming to her rescue, "JIM!" Y/n began to kick Mr. Scroop as hard as she could. "LET ME GO-"

Kicking his chin Mr. Scroop rolled off the cliff of gold, falling to his demise. Y/n clawed at the coins trying to fight the shifting gold that was making her slide down. Jim moved faster than ever he cut off all engines and swooped down the edge that Y/n and Scroop fell off. Dangling from the edge Jim reached out his arms and blasted on the gas to catch Y/n. Y/n allowed herself to fall into Jim's arms. "Are you alright?!" Jim yelled over the roar of the engine, but before Y/n could say anything a blast of an explosion made the walls fall, blocking off their exit.

Silver turned back to see the walls closing behind Y/n and Jim. "NO!" He shouted, along the boat they were Silver, Delbert, the Captain, Y/n's father Ben and Morph. Luckily Silver kept his word and went back for them.

With the portable closed they were all stuck within the boobytrapped treasure. Even working as a team they were stuck. "Quick there's a way out!" Y/n said looking back at the crooked wall, Jim nodded as he stomped on the gas. The pair leaned forward on the board, helping the board move faster.

"NO!" Jim shouted as he noticed the engine dying on them. Now Jim was starting to panic, he needed to get Y/n out there fast. The fumes were starting to surround their area. 'Come on- please!'

They were so close, that Y/n could see Silver and her injured dad aboard the ship. Jim flew close to the wall. "WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO JUMP," Jim instructed as they were about to crash into a wall.
By now the engine was dying out fast. "Ready- NOW!" The engine had completely died out and Jim began to fall.

Y/n leapt to safety on the wall while Jim slipped from behind her, leaving him to hold onto a sliver of the wall. "Jim, NO!" Y/n yelled as she saw Jim falling from beneath her.

Jim jumped off the surfer and grabbed onto a piece of the wall that was falling off. "JIM HANG ON- DON'T LET GO!" Y/n shouted as she slipped through the wall to the ship.

Once she climbed aboard she pushed through The Doctor and Silver in inconsolable tears, "Silver it's Jim! Follow me!" She said trying her best to stop crying. Silver raced alongside Y/n to where Jim was hanging. He dropped the heavy rope in the hope that they would feel a tug of some sort. Fumes were rising up to the top so they couldn't see Jim anymore, just smog. "Come on Jim...come on please," Y/n panicked as she and Silver stood lowering the rope.

"Come on lad," Sliver mumbled under his breath.

It was quiet for a moment as Y/n and Silver gripped onto the rope, just then they felt something pull the rope. "JIM!" Y/n cried as she pulled the rope, "Silver pull!"

Y/n and Sliver pulled Jim to safety with every last bit of strength they had. "Y/n!" Jim expressed as he pulled himself up.

Y/n huffed as she helped him up, just then another explosion roar emerged from the golden cave.

"Come on kids we best be heading off!" Silver said as he ran back to the ship. "Y/n your pop's had the idea to change da map's door to a safe exit!" He explained.

Jim pulled Y/n to the ship never wanting to let her go again. "Come on hurry!"

Once they reached the boat Delbert was ready for take-off. "The planet is about to blow up any second now!" He shouted from the wheel.

"We're gonna make it!" Amelia shouted. They all looked back at the mountain of gold being obliterated. Y/n's eyes darted to her father to see him safely lying down, his arm still injured from the blaster wound.

"We have 6 more seconds to get the blazes outta here!" Silver screamed as he looked at the monitor.

5, Delbert and Amelia's face became firm.

4, Anthony prayed silently.

3, Ben carried Morph in his reassuring arms.

2, Sliver looked back at his lost treasure.

...1, Y/n and Jim held each other for what might be the last time.

Just then an outbreak of the exposition busted out causing the ship to ride on the wave of the eruption. With that little bit of extra help, they passed through the doors into the Space Port. The entire ship thundered with excitement and emotion.

Jim picked Y/n up and spun her around. "Y/n we did it!" Y/n laughed as she held onto Jim's neck. Once he placed her down she wanted nothing more than to kiss him, but just then she noticed her father.

Anthony looked beyond grim, the blaster wound made him weak beyond belief. Y/n quickly made her way over to her father, "it's okay Dad," she said as she helped him up. "We're home."

Jim walked alongside Y/n and helped Anothoy up slowly as well, making sure not to hurt his wounded shoulder. "I've been gone for so long," he said weakly. Y/n gave her dad a small smile as they stared at the spaceport.
