It only took a couple of days for Delbert to arrange a ship for their expedition, as much as Isla didn't want Y/n to go she knew it was something she had to do. Something in Y/n's heart was telling her to go, whether it was to fulfill a childhood destiny or to change her life's point of view. Sarah and Isla were emotional the morning they left for the spaceport. "Take care of her, okay?" Sarah whispered to Jim's ear as she gave him one final hug, Jim nodded as grabbed his bag.

Once they got to the spaceport Y/n started to feel a tad bit nervous. 'What have I gotten myself into?' She thought to herself. Until now she had always been at the Inn or school, she had never been further than that and now was venturing into space with a juvenile delinquent and a gullible professor.

"Jim- Y/n wait up," Delbert said as he appeared in a yellow spacesuit that was two sizes too big.

"Oh no," Jim said under his breath, he then took Y/n's hand and began to walk at a faster pace while dragging her along, "we're not with him," he teased. Y/n giggled as she broke free from his hand.

Delbert was carrying a bag full of supplies on his back, "there is no such thing as being overly prepared!" He explained. "This is going to be somewhat of a life-changing experience," Delbert said trying to break the ice. "Y/n even though I didn't plan on you coming I am very content!" Y/n stared at Delbert for a moment until she shook her head and walked past the boys.

"Was it something I said?" Delbert asked as he looked back at Jim.

Jim rolled his eyes as he hauled his bag over his shoulder, "Let's just- find the ship, okay?"

They soon saw the miraculous ship. "Oh, guys this is it RLS Legacy!" Delbert introduced, the ship was breathtaking. People were setting up supplies as the crew members began to open their sails. Y/n and Jim climbed aboard in awe looking at the ship, with wide child-like eyes.

Just then a firm voice called out to Y/n. "I wouldn't stand there if I were you," Y/n looked up to see a crate about to drop on her head she quickly leapt to safety in front of a man who looked like he was made of stones.

"Oh," Y/n said as she looked up at the man. "Thank you very much, Mr?"

"Arrow," The man said proudly. "Welcome aboard madame- will you be staying for the expedition?" He asked as he placed his hands behind his back.

"Yes sir," Y/n said trying to sound as confident as him.

"Glad to see you, onboard madame, the Captain will be glad to see you then, we always need bright young minds such as yourself." Y/n smiled at Mr. Arrow luminously, she felt as though she was going to get along with him. Jim puffed air out of his mouth as he approached them.

"And who might you be?" Mr. Arrow asked Jim much less kindly than he asked Y/n.

"Jim," he said dryly. Mr. Arrow raised his brow at Jim. "So what are you the Captain?" Jim asked as he narrowed his eyes at him.

"The Captain's aloft," Mr. Arrow said as he pointed overhead. Just then a cat-like woman flipped through the sails and down to the deck in grace and precision. Jim and Delbert both gave each other a look.

"Mr. Arrow, I've checked this miserable ship from stem to stern and as usual, it's spot on," the captain said in a sassy yet friendly tone. "Can you do nothing wrong?" She asked giving him a posh face.

"You falter me, captain," Mr. Arrow said bashfully. She then looked over at Mr. Arrow's company. "Ah, doctor Doobler I presume?"

Y/n gave out a slight giggle at the mispronunciation. The Captain shot her eyes in Y/n direction "And who might you be?" The captain asked bright-eyed.

"Y/n ma'am," she said in a soft voice, to her the Captian looked very intimidating.

"I am Captain Amelia," she said she then began to circle Y/n. "Are you literate?" she asked bluntly.

"Um... yes ma'am," Y/n said as she stood her ground. "I am somewhat of a linguist and author," she said sternly. It was true not only did Y/n have a gift for writing she also became fluent in eight different languages, there were a lot of languages entering the Inn. It wasn't hard for her to teach herself she has done it all her life.

"Hm, she can be quite useful to me then," she said as she looked at Mr. Arrow. "And is this your beloved?" The Captain asked as she looked over at Jim.

Jim and Y/n looked at each other in disbelief. "No!" they both said at the same time.

"Not at all!" Jim said covering up.

"Captian this is Jim Hawkins," Delbert introduced. She analyzed Jim for a moment, his poster his clothes his facial expression.

"I'd like a word with all three of you in my study," she said as she realized his face. "

✵✵✵

"Mr. James Hawkins," the Captain said closing the door of her study room. "I understand that you hold the map?" She asked sticking out her hand and gesturing for him to hand it over.

"Here," Jim said as he threw her the map. She surprisingly caught it without flinching at the fastball.

"Hm, fascinating!" She muttered to herself as she examined the unique map. "Mr. Hawkins in the future you will address me as either captain or ma'am is that clear?" She waited for a response as she locked the map away, the captain then turned around to see Jim rolling his eyes. "Mr. Hawkins?" she said impatiently.

Jim lowered his head ever so slightly as he caved in. "Yes ma'am," he said giving in.

She then looked over to Delbert and Y/n. "Miss Y/n, Mr. Arrow has concocted a project to record the ship's voyage throughout its expedition. With him and I working on the ship I will need you to create specific entries within this journal," Amelia purpose as she handed Y/n an empty Journal.

Y/n took the book into her hands and flipped through the pages. "Yes ma'am," Y/n nodded as she looked up at Amelia.

"Splendid!" The captain said as she stood tall. "You may use the study as your room away from all the men- as for you Mr. Hawkins-"

"Let me guess you want me to correct her spelling?" Jim said lifting his eyebrow at the two.

"Oh no something much more important than that," The Captian said mockingly. "Kitchen duties with Mr. Silver," she said as she brushed him along.

"What?" Jim said in disbelief. "You have her writing in your diary and you got me busting tables-"

"Mr. Hawkins," the captain raised her voice as she gave Jim a stern look. "You are on my ship, you do as I tell you- understand?"

Jim paused for a moment wishing he could do something instead he looked her in the eyes and said what she wanted to hear; "yes ma'am."

"Introduce yourself to the chief Mr. Silver then report back to the deck to prepare for a sail, and as for you Y/n," the captain as she placed a blue hat on her head. "I'd appreciate it if you got started on the journal as soon as possible," she said as she made her way to the door.

"Yes ma'am," Y/n said in a low tone. Jim rolled his eyes at Y/n as he left the room. 'I hope this isn't a mistake,' Y/n thought to herself as she watched him leave.
