Y/n waited anxiously for the busy day to pass so that she could see Jim. She needed to fill out her duties as Captain Amelia's Journalist, writing down their daily experiences and other side notes that the Captain felt necessary.

She looked out the window of her study to see Jim, once again, scrubbing the floors of the deck by hand. 'He's really...cute,' Y/n thought to herself. His sleeves were rolled up to reveal his forearms and his shirt had a little slit in the middle of his shirt, Y/n blushed at the sight of him.

"Almost done, Jimbo?" Silver asked in a positive tone., "I'm going to need your help in the kitchen soon," he said with a grin.

"Oh the old cyborg needs my help now does he?" Jim asked in a joking way.

It had been a couple of months since they had boarded the ship, within that time Jim and Silver had created a bond like no other. What started from hatred soon blossomed into a wonderful friendship, Y/n would see them laughing together and working, almost as if they were father and son.

"Ah-ha," Silver laughed as he placed his hands on his hips. "Need you? You're da barnacle growing on me side," he said as he waved him off.

Jim laughed. "Ya, I'll be done soon," he said looking at a Silver return to the kitchen. Jim smiled to himself as he dried his hands on an apron that was tied around his waist.

"Ay hoy there Jim," Delbert said as he awkwardly approached him while holding a telescope. "How are you on this fine afternoon?"

"I've got no complaints," he said with a slight grin as he remembered his night with Y/n. He then looked up to see the glass doors of Captain Amelia's study to see Y/n pacing while reading records for her journal. He thought she looked effortlessly beautiful, that she was something that he had but didn't deserve.

"You've both grown up so much since the time I met you two," Delbert said. He looked at Jim to see he was looking up at the Captain's quarters where Y/n was.

Jim smiled to himself as he looked away from Y/n. "It was noble of you to insist that she'd come along Jim," Delbert said as he awkwardly patted him on the back.

"What do you mean?" Jim asked as he raised his eyebrow.

"Oh- I mean!" Dr. Delbert panicked. Jim chuckled, showing him that he was joking. Delbert smiled at Jim once again, "She is a good girl... maybe time together will do you both some good." Jim's eyes slightly widened he turned around to look at Delbert but when he did he saw him already walking away.

He stood up to look at where Y/n was studying. It was only a couple of months ago when Jim felt like a complete mess and now he felt like there wasn't anything he couldn't do. Y/n gave him that strength, just like how he had given her the confidence to board this assignment.

Jim sat on an old barrel as he peeled potatoes with Mr. Silver, he looked up at the time to see it growing later in the day.

"Ah, Silver- mind letting me get off a little early tonight?" He asked as he looked at his Cyborg friend.

"Let you off?! For what reason?" He chuckled to himself while still peeling potatoes.

"I just have somewhere I need to be," Jim said as he looked down not wanting to give himself away.

"And where's dat?" Silver said not even looking at him.

"The hatch... at the bottom of the ship," Jim finally said.

"Oi, planning on running away?" Silver busted up laughing.

"No no, it's nothing like that it's just- I'm meeting up with Y/n there," Jim announced sheepishly.

Silver gave him a smirk. "Oh so it's dat girl," he mocked. "Ah, young love, the beautiful girl the rugged boy-"

"Ah, Silver knocks it off," Jim giggled embarrassed.

"Fine then go on- have your fun," Silver said as he rested his blade next to him. "But be prepared for tomorrow's workload."

"Really? Thanks!" Jim said relieved as he gave Silver his blade.

"She's a good one y' know," Silver said referring to Y/n. "Keep her safe ya hear?"

Jim nodded as he ran up the stairs in excitement.

"Morph," Silver called out for his companion. The gel-looking creature appeared out of the perp barrel with a satisfied face. "I think Miss Y/n is going to be trouble for us," his robotic soon turned a beaming red. "I think I have to take care of dat soon."

Jim made his way to the hatch at the bottom of the ship to see Y/n waiting there for him he caught himself staring at her for a moment. She was leaning up against the wall of the ship while fittingly around with the gold necklace around her neck. She wasn't doing anything but somehow she took Jim's breath away. He finally gathered enough courage and strolled up to her.

"You're late," Y/n said with a crooked smile.

"Sorry about that," he chuckled, "Silver had me working overtime."

Jim took a moment to look at Y/n, for some reason, he wanted to kiss her right then and there. 'What am I thinking?' Jim panicked. 'I mean not even two days ago I was annoyed by Duchess and now it's like I can't think when I'm around her!'

"Eh," Jim said snapping out of it, "it's this way," he said leading her to his scheme.

It was already late in the evening, everyone was already getting some shut-eye after a hard day's work.

"So what are we doing exactly?" Y/n asked as she followed the boy she once felt hostility toward.

"Don't worry," Jim said in a smooth voice, "you'll see."

Jim walked over to where the escape boats were located, he then began to untie the boat from its position. "What are you doing Jim? You're gonna get in trouble!" Y/n panicked as she looked around.

"Relax, they won't know," Jim said as he carefully set up the boat.

"Jim this can be dangerous what if something happens?" Y/n said as she lightly touched his shoulder. "I mean, what if we get caught? They could kick us off the ship-"

"Then they wouldn't know where the treasure is, I'm the only one who knows how to open the map," Jim reminded Y/n as he stood on the ship.

"Jim I don't know about this one maybe we shouldn't-"

"Give me your hand," Jim softly said as he held out his own, he then gave Y/n a pleading look. It was as if he was afraid that she wouldn't take his hand. "Please," he whispered in a captivating voice, "just trust me."

Y/n took a deep breath as she took Jim's hand, "...okay."
