Chapter 18: Battle of the Atlantic

Azur Lane HQ, Washington DC

All high ranking official from both factions arrive at Washington DC are discussing about a massive invasion forces of Sirens entering the Atlantic which is bad news for Eagle Union if the Sirens cut off Eagle Union from the rest of the Azur Lane forces including the threat of invading the capital.

Admiral: "What do we have to deal with?"

Admiral2: "We only have couple of warships ready to fight, but it won't be enough until help arrives from the main base in Hawaii."

Admiral3: "Why did we send most of the ships to that base?"

Everyone agree to the question because they didn't expect the Sirens to make a bold assault in the Atlantic since the war against the Crimson Axis was over, but why would they start attacking the Atlantic. Everyone continue to discuss what to do until the President of the Eagle Union arrive to calm everyone.

President: "We're Eagle Union the most powerful nation in the world. We have survive this ordeal before from the powerful navy of the Royal Navy, Sakura Empire, and Iron Blood. I'm not letting those Sirens destroy the Eagle Union and her people. How long until help arrives?"

Admiral: "They will be here within weeks, but they did send couple of kansens to us before we give them a call."

Couple of kansens enter the building to be Regele Ferdinand, Enterprise, and New Jersey who is the commanding fleet of the Atlantic Branch which is about 10 ships which it was supposed to be 30 warships until the new base was built and move the 20 ships against the Sakura Empire. but now their're now allies so there is no reason for everyone to jumble into one big base.

President: "Every well then; looks like I'm going to talk with the other leaders to discuss about this, but right now we need to deal with the massive Siren fleet."

Everyone agree and the kansens exit the building to the port.

Time Skip
Port, Eagle Union
Regele POV

I walk with Enterprise and New Jersey to form a task force to fight against the Sirens until help arrives from ever from the main fleet of Azur Lane, the Royal Navy, or other major factions in Europe, but it will be too late to provide support. We have a couple of heavy cruisers, 3 light cruisers, and a destroyer which isn't good for us since we only have a carrier and a battleship to provide against a large formation of Siren warships. New Jersey told us that there are more kansens  waiting for us at the mission area which is a couple of battleship and 6 heavy cruisers which is little better and hopefully be enough to fight the Sirens or at least hold them until help arrives. We depart the port and heading to face against the Sirens.

Time Skip
Atlantic Ocean
3rd POV

We can see a large formation of Siren warships heading to the mainland of the Eagle Union, but the kansens is preventing them from moving forward; however the kansens are overwhelm by the Sirens along with a high rank Siren named Tester who is mocking them for their resistance against  the Sirens.

Tester(laughing): "Is this the best defense the Eagle Union can produce? Lame."

The Sirens force manage to break through the kansens defense and making their way to Washington DC which they intercept by Enterprise's planes and New Jersey volley of shells heading toward the Siren fleet which destroy some of the ships, but not enough to cause the retreat.

Tester: "Looks like they bring the big guns, but that doesn't matter if they don't pose a threat to us."

The Siren fighters are heading toward the couple of kansens until they got shot down by AA guns by Regele Ferdinand who is providing air defense for Enterprise and New Jersey.

Regele: "We better get this done before they get  too close."

Enterprise: "Yea, but there's too many of them."

New Jersey(angry): "I don't like this one bit."

Regele continue to open fire at the Siren fighters while the bombers are dropping their bombs on enemy capital ships, but was heavy loss against the Siren AA guns; Regele continue to protect Enterprise and New Jersey, but some of the Siren fighters strike back by attacking his bridge which is bursting into flames which he is spewing blood. 

Enterprise(shock): "REGELE!"

Regele(pain): "Don't worry about me and focus on the Sirens."

She nod and summon more planes while New Jersey continue firing her volley of shells at the Siren fleet, but she took damage. Things are getting bad by the second with Regele is out of commission, but he's holding on by firing his AA guns at the fighters which one of the them slam into his hull. Regele is on fire while Enterprise is taken a beaten including New Jersey, but help have arrive which is the Sardegna Empire forces leading by Vittorio.

Vittorio: "Ready to open fire."

The Imperial fleet open fire at the Siren forces which destroyed a couple of carriers including some of the battleships. Tester wasn't happy about this and fire at Vittorio which Regele use the ounce of his strength to defeat Vittorio which she was  shock to see that he protect her.

Vittorio(shock): "Regele?"

Regele pass out from the blast and about to sink while Enterprise is sever wounded and New Jersey is fighting for her life while the Sardegna Empire is having a hard time to move forward due to Tester is preventing them from going forward. Things aren't going so great for the fleet and the Siren invasion forces are almost reaching to the capital of the Eagle Union.
