After witnessing that unknown Titan being obliterated by the AT-TE, all LAATs made it to Wall Rose along with other Gunships carrying the civilians at night. Thankfully, Kix stated that Carla's legs were only fractured and have no internal damage. She'll have to wait six weeks for her bones to heal.
They landed on the open courtyard. After some time, all of the civilians began to set up for the night. Kix started wrapping bandages to Carla's legs and then Tup carried her. Eren and Mikasa went off to find a good spot to sleep. Eren came back and escorted them to the spot. Tup later put her down after they found it.
Grisha: CARLA! EREN! MIKASA!
They heard Grisha shouting, while he ran to them.
Carla: Grisha! You're alive!
Eren: Dad!
Mikasa: Mr. Yeager!
He grabbed all three of them in a hug, while he shed some tears. He looked at the clones and thanked them.
After their reunion, Grisha had asked Fives, Kix, and Carla to go outside to talk privately. Captain Rex and the others came to them, as they saw Grisha.
Captain Rex: Grisha! Are you alright?
Grisha: Yes. I'm alright. I need to tell Carla the truth.
Carla: The truth? About what, Grisha?
Rex nods. Rex told the others to stay with Eren and Mikasa. They went outside with Kix carrying Carla to a forest, that's a little bit far from Wall Rose's gate.
Grisha: Carla, there's something I've been meaning to tell you.
Carla looked at him with confusion.
Carla: What is it, dear?
Grisha spilled the beans to her. Telling her about his former life, previous family, power, mission and the enemy. The look of disbelief on Carla's face was evident. She shook her head and blinked twice as she couldn't believe what Grisha had said to her.
Carla: So, you're telling me that there are humans out there outside the walls? Humans transformed into Titans against their will? You have Titan powers and took the power of all Titans from its inheritor?
Grisha: Yes, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you everything about me. But, I had to play it safe. It's the only way I can succeed in my mission.
Carla: I still don't understand how are you a Titan and yet you're still human?
Grisha: I'm a Titan shifter, Carla. I simply cut or bite my hand and I'll transform by following an objective. But it comes at a cost.
Kix: A cost? What do you mean?
Grisha: (sigh) A Titan shifter's life expectancy is thirteen years.
Everyone's eyes widened from Grisha's statement.
Fives: Thirteen years?!
Kix: Why didn't you tell us that?!
They just realized what we shouted. Carla then looked at them with the look of betrayal, we looked back at her.
Carla: You all knew?!
Grisha: Carla!
Grisha kneeled and placed his hands on her shoulder. She looks back at him as he tears up.
Grisha: Please, listen to me! The reason they knew was because I told them that I had never seen them! The power I inherit allows me to see the future, but in small fragments! Not a single clone trooper was there! Please, don't hate them for knowing!
Carla was hesitant at first, but she nodded and began to tear up, while closing her eyes and placing her hand on her mouth.
Carla: How much time do you have left, Grisha?
Grisha: I don't have any more time left. I must ask you something else.
Carla: Huh?
Grisha: I need to pass this power down. But it's not going to be you, Mikasa, or anyone else, except for one.
Carla's eyes widened as she knows what Grisha is thinking of passing down the power to.
Carla: No! No! Not Eren! He will not have that power! I forbid it, Grisha!
Grisha: Carla! Eren's dream of exploring the outside world and eliminating the Titans is completely irreversible! He has the potential of using the power! My memories can help him learn how to use it properly! I can't have you be the one to inherit it! I want you to live a long life and be there for Eren when he is having trouble! All I ask you is to let me transfer this power to him! Please, Carla! That's all I ask!
Carla then placed both hands on her face. Tried to cover her tears. She stopped after a few minutes and took a deep breath, then looked at Grisha with tears in her eyes.
Carla: Grisha. Tell me the truth. Did you see Eren as the inheritor of your Titan powers in those small fragments?
Grisha: Yes, twice I did. Once I saw him using the power. He fought against the enemy and won. The second time, he was about to be eaten by someone, who's father is solely responsible for all that has happened today. But because the clones are here. The outcome of the future can be different. They can train Eren however they can. Please, Carla.
As Grisha finished his piece, Carla closed her eyes and nodded.
Grisha: Ok. Keep everything about this a secret. If anyone knows, then the government will kill you, Mikasa, and Eren. The key to finally ending this cycle will be lost forever. Play it safe, until the time comes, tell Eren the truth.
Grisha then looked at the clones.
Grisha: I'll bring Eren with me to this location. Can all of you stay by Carla's and Mikasa's side? And when the transfer is complete, please retrieve Eren back to her.
The three of them nodded as they began to leave. Kix went to Carla to carry her back.
Kix: I'm sorry, Mrs. Yeager.
Carla: (sniffs and wipes her tears) There's nothing to apologize for. I forgive all of you.
After a few minutes, they made it back to Wall Rose. Carla and Grisha had their last hug and kiss, they said their last goodbyes. Kix placed Carla by Eren and Mikasa, who were asleep.
Fives: You should rest now, Mrs. Yeager.
Carla nodded and went to sleep.
Grisha woke up Eren and took him deep inside the forest. Rex, Fives, and Kix watched them as they left. Only fifteen minutes later, they saw a bright light inside the forest.
Fives (thoughts): Grisha did it. Eren now is a Titan shifter.
Captain Rex: Let's go retrieve him.
Fives and Kix: Yes sir.
As the three of them went to retrieve Eren from inside the forest, unbeknownst to them, there was someone watching from a far distance. He spoke to Grisha before he went to find his family. He even heard Grisha's plea of keeping everything a secret, which he'll respect.
