Aqua hadn't expected himself to be thrown into the world of acting again. Not after deciding he had no talent to continue.

What he expected even less was for some to admire his acting, and follow him around like a lost duckling, hoping to learn more.

Frankly, when Aqua entered the cast of Sweet Today, he couldn't care less about how the production turned out. That was what he told himself when he watched the first episode, grimacing at how... not great the show was, to say the least.

It was clear that Arima was still talented as an actress, merely dumbing down her acting, but the same couldn't be said for the rest of the cast.

Miyako briefly mentioned that they were all models with little to no experience in acting.

Aqua could tell.

At the time, though, it didn't bother Aqua as much as it bothered Arima. Unlike Arima, Aqua was not an actor. He did not act for his personal enjoyment, nor to honor Ai's dying wish. Aqua acted for revenge— a way to get close to people in the show industry that could be his father.

The one who murdered Ai.

So really, as long as Aqua got the DNA evidence he needed, he could care less about the outcome of the show. He told himself that, and yet, for Sweet Today's final episode he found himself trying to spice up the scene he was in a bit. Maybe the famous scene wouldn't be as beautiful as it was in the manga, but Aqua was curious to see how it would turn out if he pushed a few buttons.

He was curious to see how well Narushima could follow along, Aqua admitted.

The main male lead had no respect for the art of acting— that much was clear. He was young, he thought his popularity kept him leagues higher than the rest of the cast.

Foolish thinking of a child, Aqua had seen it time and time again.

Nearly every show he was in had someone like Narushima— Aqua hardly thought much about it when he first introduced himself to the man, only to get completely ignored. However, there was something about Narushima that interested Aqua. Up to the point where he could attempt his plan to fix the last episode of Sweet Today, that was.

He hadn't expected Narushima to play along.

When Aqua whispered insults in his ear, he expected Narushima to scream for the crew to stop recording. For Aqua to get kicked out of the show, and never see him again.

Instead, Narushima got the hint surprisingly quickly, and played along.

If he put emotion and effort into it, Narushima's acting wasn't horrid, Aqua learned.

He was nothing compared to Arima, who seemed to be born with talent that Aqua wished he had. But Narushima could still act, which was enough for the scene to look good.

Perhaps if Narushima took acting seriously, then he could go far with his career. Which Aqua supposed was why he left the model with a small piece of advice— that all acting should hold emotion in it.

Narushima remembered it, for some odd reason.

Always full of surprises, he met up with Aqua after the cast party for Sweet Today. The first thing Aqua noticed was how he gripped nervously at his expensive suit.

"Listen, Hoshino..."

Aqua blinked in surprise at the sound of his last name. Back when they met on set, Narushima referred to everyone by their first name— not to mention how he never cared to learn Aqua's name.

"Can you teach me how to act?"

"No." Aqua replied quickly.

"Why not?!" Narushima exclaimed. "You know how to act!"
