Grace of God

I want to talk about the significance of the death of Jesus.

Growing up, I always felt like Jesus did not die for my sins, simply because I was not alive when he was crucified.
I was so so wrong.
Jesus actually died for my sins, he died for you and I.
Looking at the life of the Israelites, the way they used to relate to God compared to our own lives now, there's a huge difference.

That difference came to be from Jesus.

The Israelites had to offer sacrifices to atone for their sins. (Animal sacrifices).
A woman on her period was considered unclean and had to undergo ceremonial baths and sacrifices to be rendered clean again.
The people weren't allowed into the tabernacle of God. They were limited to the courtyard.
Only the priests could enter the temple of the Lord.

Jesus died to stop all of that.
Jesus died to wash away our sins.
Jesus died so that we may be saved.
Jesus died so that we may have access to the father.
Jesus died to wash us clean.
Jesus came to break the barrier between us and God.

Upon the death of Jesus, the curtain of the temple was split into two, from top to bottom signifying that we now have access to speak to God and sin no longer separates us from God.

'He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed. We're all like sheep who've wandered off and gotten lost. We've all done our own thing, gone our own way.
And God has piled all our sins, everything we've done wrong, on him, on him' (Isiah 53 v.5-6, MSG).
Hallelujah!

Now we can talk to God while driving, working, while in the shower, anywhere!
Now we can go to the house of the Lord.
Now we can have intimacy with God.
Now we are no longer separated from the presence of God.
God is everywhere with us and listening to us.
Oh, my father is the sweetest.

What manner of love is that?
A love so great.
A love so tender.
A love so sweet.
A love so hard to comprehend.
Wow, the Lord is good all the time.
I will always sing of the great love of God till everybody knows deep in their heart that God loves them so so much.
He loves us unconditionally.

I'm so happy to be a child of the living God and I'm glad to be able to tap into the grace of salvation that I've received.

Jesus suffered a great deal for us.
If Jesus didn't die for our sins, I can't imagine how life would have been, and I don't want to find out.

Brethren, please let us thank God for giving his only son to die for the sins of you and I.
'Father, I thank you.
I thank you for giving Jesus to die for my sins.
I thank you that I am now free from sin.
I thank you because sin no longer has dominion over my life.'

We are now free from sin, but that doesn't mean we are free to sin.
Please let us endeavour to live a holy life.
I know it's not an easy journey but I believe that God will give us strength to carry on.
May the Lord continue to uphold each and every one of us till we meet at the feet of the father.
