FLOWERS IN BLOOM
The trees were tall, slowly regrowing their leaves to compliment their brown trunks. Nature was gorgeous, the animals, the plants but when you've been walking past what felt like the same tree about five times now, you start to hate nature and its enticing features.
"Fuck I can't do this anymore."
The others stopped, some turning around to look at their companion who leaned against the tree bark. "We've been walking for hours now, we can take a five or something!" She argued looking back at the group.
"No fucking way Karsyn, we have to keep moving, we don't know if there's any infected or scavengers out here." The boy argued, the thicket had been quiet. The last infected they'd seen was nearly two days ago and the only thing that had chased them recently was sleep.
"Well fuck you Gio! I'm not moving any further until I get a break." Karsyn yelled before plopping down onto a rock, doubled over.
"Maybe, she's right, just a quick stop wouldn't hurt." The wounded boy said before joining her on the earth floor, resting against the rock.
"You feeling ok, Harrison?" Scarlet kneeled next to the boy, he smiled to which she returned. The two continued to talk which Yasmine tuned out, turning back to Dylan and Giovanni. The two were talking, more so Gio getting upset and Dylan trying to calm him down.
Yasmine decided to take a little walk, continuing through the forest not far from the others. She looked at the naked branches that were budding with leaves and the squirrels were coming back from their hibernation, the forest was coming back to its lively part of its life cycle.
Yasmine continued to follow the dirt path that was oddly perfectly paved, until she reached a cliff edge.
"Holy, shit." She said to herself, she took in the small empty town with a tall clock tower. She smirked to herself as relief and excitement tore through her nerves, quickly she turned on her head and marched right back to her friends to inform them of her brilliant discovery.
The group were still broken off and chatting amongst each other, Yasmine had decided to talk with Gio about the matter first. Taking him over to the cliff and showing him the abandoned town, his face read of shock and some other nerves.
Yasmine understood, seeing as their last stop had almost gotten them killed.
"What should we do?" Yasmine asked, her curls blowing in the light spring breeze as she looked at her friend.
"C'mon."

The two had informed the group of the discovery, and decided they'd check the place out first before fully pushing into the town. In the meantime, the rest of the group had found a small shack to take refuge in and wait for Yasmine and Giovanni to return or meet their inevitable death.
