Shiv was dozing off, sitting beside Ann. His head was bobbing up down and around, clockwise and anti clockwise. Ansh groggily trodded towards him. Rubbing his eyes he yawned, and whispered in Shiv's ear rather loud.

"Shivaay...Wake up...Shivaay..."

"Huh? Huh? HA?" He got startled.

"SHHHHHHH You'll wake my Momma..." Ansh shushed him. Both the boys blinked and rubbed their eyes a few times, perfectly in sync, clearing their cloudy blue eyes.

"You won't wake up your Momma...but you sure don't give two hoots about me I see..." Shiv grumbled, yawning.

"Shivaay I am hungry...I have to take my meds in one hour..." Ansh looked at the neon colour, digital wrist watch he was wearing.

"Ah...Oh Yes...Let's...Let's get you something bud..." Shiv stood up, when he felt a resistance.

Ann was still clutching on to one of his fingers. He slowly loosened up from her grip. Her round face was partly covered by her silky soft hair, that was looking more wavy this morning. Her plump lips peeked through them tresses and they slightly parted as she let out a soft snore. He smiled feeling content. She looked so peaceful in her sleep. Ann looked nothing but ordinary right now—Her mascara running down the face, her lips slightly dry and chapped, her cheeks puffed up from all the crying last night. Yet, there was a mesmerising glow around her. She even looked a bit angelic this morning.

"Pretty Girl" Shiv blurted out, and Ansh looked at him with one raised brow.

"Shivaay? Food..."

"Hmmmn food" Shiv kept staring at Ann sleeping and Ansh poked him a few times to get his attention.

" Hungry child here who is not allowed to switch on the stove?" Ansh widened his blue eyes at Shiv again.

" Yes...Yes...Hungry child shall be fed soon..." He followed Ansh downstairs to the small kitchen.

The kitchen was rather neat, and the pots and pans looked new and barely used. Shiv opened the fridge, and spotted a few eggs, milk, butter and jam inside. He opened the small cupboards below to find nothing else. Not even an onion. A loaf of a day old bread was lying on the counter top.

"Err....Do you guys even cook?" He asked and Ansh nodded for his surprise.

"What do you eat for breakfast?" He asked gathering whatever he could find, lining it up on the counter top.

"Eggs...Momma makes me toast with jam and butter sometimes too...I looooove strawberry jam!" Ansh grinned.

"Lunch?"

"I eat at the hospital...Momma....I...think cafeteria...Sometimes she just drinks her tea and sits next to me while I try to eat. Sometimes it's hard to eat after the treatments...I throw up a lot..."

"Great so your Momma never eats... and you neither..." Shiv groaned, and started to mix the eggs, and milk in a bowl.

Ansh paid careful attention, when Shiv dipped the bread in the mixture, and placed it on a buttered pan. He sniffed around, drooling at the aroma of the toast. When he tossed it on a plate with one swift motion of the pan, Ansh's little mouth opened in awe. He tried to have a bite to taste, when Shiv gave his hand a soft smack, asking him to be patient.

"Bud..Sugar...where is sugar?" He looked around, and Ansh scrambled through the bottom shelf to find a massive ceramic container. "Woah...You will never run out of sugar I guess?"

Shiv stirred up the sugar in a different pan, adding a bit of water, caramelising it. Then he elegantly poured it in a small bowl and set it up right next to the french toast.
