"Finished expressing your feelings to somecat, Badgerpaw?" Silverpaw confronted him the next morning, she'd been avoiding the border for a moon now. Badgerpaw held her stare. "I'm sorry Silverpaw I had to say it. It's fine if you don't want to be with me." Something told Silverpaw she had to let it drop. "I'm sorry I didn't believe you, I...overreacted..." How could she ever express her feelings now? "I didn't know it at first," she found herself saying,"but something and somecat told me to say it... I..kinda....have..." Badgerpaw put a paw over her mouth. "I don't need you to say any more," he said, putting his tail over her back, causing Silverpaw to tear up. "I know." Badgerpaw put his head on hers. "I just wish we weren't separated by our clans. Well, we'll have to meet at night." Silverpaw looked up and licked Badgerpaw on the nose and walked away back to camp. Silverpaw walked to apprentice den to find Sagepaw sulking, not surprisingly though. "What now?" She said coldly. Sagepaw's voice was croaky as if he'd been crying."I-I'm s-so sorry I was mean to you," he croaked,"can y-you forgive me, please, I don't know why, but I want t-to be f-friends with you again. A-Anyway W-Wingpaw and I made up, but my mentor has gone into depression and my temporary mentor, Lightheart, he..he called me...." Sagepaw burst into tears again and Silverpaw wanted to get out of the den to give Sagepaw space but she thought she'd say it first. "Oh Sagepaw, I will gladly be friends with you." And with that she left the den and looked up, moonrise she left the camp and walked to the border. "Badgerpaw?" She called and sat waiting for the tom. A second later the tom was moving toward her. Silverpaw looked up, they were under the moon and the moonlight shone on them, she moved closer and licked him on the nose. "I missed you," Badgerpaw said, "I never want to be separated from you." Silverpaw nuzzled him. "The only thing separating us is our clans. The stars remind me of you. Look at the stars, look how they shine for you, all things you do." Badgerpaw entwined tails with her. "Let that be the only thing separating us." Their gazes locked. The only thing in the world was them.
