"So let me get this straight..." Justin started, flipping through the papers in front of him. Julian scrolled on his tablet, looking at the digital copy of the contract.
"You want me to act- as you put it, like i'm completely smitten with Luna, just for what?" He paused, his finger pointing to the bolded words on the first page. "6 months. And then after that, pretend this never happened?"
"Basically. Yeah."
There was a silence. Luna and Lurina came back finally, it seemed as though they were gone for an hour. Lurina looked tensed, while Luna looked calmer than before. Justin stared at her in awe, her previous anxious self was completely gone, as if she was a new person. The longer he stared the more his heart thundered against his chest, Luna was absolutely stunning in his eyes, her curly blonde hair with those enchanting blue eyes, her lips soft and plump, her hands smooth and slender. She looked like everything he wanted in a girl, in a wife.
"I wanna marry her." His breath was shaky, and his throat dry as he turned back to Julian.
"Well..." Julian turned to Luna who's attention was focused on Justin.
"I mean- not actually." Justin elaborated. "My brother is an event planner, and he needs to plan my wedding to get a boost in the industry. We just need to stay together as long as possible to be married, have the wedding and then be on our way."
Luna stared at her hands as she listened to what Justin was implying. Julian cleared his throat and scrolled through the contract once more, going over everything to make sure what Justin was proposing was not against the contract. The tension in the air rose again, but instead of Luna being nervous, Justin was the one breaking out in cold sweat. This was nerve-wracking for him, even more than when he auditions for a part in a movie.
"Sure." Luna finally spoke.
Everyone stared at her in shock. Julian furrowed his eyebrows as he stared into his boss's eyes, she was sure, the surest she's ever been about something. Lurina stared at her sister in awe, just moments ago she was stressing over whether or not she should even consider this, yet here she was agreeing to something that could literally change her life forever. Justin stared at her with a slight smile on his face, he was surprised she said yes but nonetheless he was grateful. She was confident now, and that made her even more attractive to him.
"Let's get married."

"What the fuck was I thinking?!" Luna paced her room, running a hand through her hair. She was panicking now that the night was over, and everyone had dispersed. She told herself she was going to move along with this idea smoothly, accepting the fact that she has to do this to make sure that the paparazzi never bother her about a "prince charming". But the gravitating guilt was impending on her as she couldn't help but think about the betrayal and lies she would give her fans. It felt so wrong, but what else could she do?
"This is good." Luna reassured herself. "We'll date for a while, and then get married like all couples do. Then the paparazzi will get off my back and then life will be all peaches and roses. Just as long as we get divorced later, we should be fine, right? Everything will be completely fine."
Luna rambled under her breath as if she was dissecting the worlds most hardest problem. She paced back and fourth, not paying attention to the fact that her doorbell was ringing, completely being oblivious to the noise around her. Eventually, her thoughts were interrupted by the loud ringing and vibration of her phone in her pocket.
"Hello?"
"Open the door, pazza."
"Santino?" Luna gasped, rushing to her front door as she hung up the phone. She had not seen her brother's business partners in maybe a year, they were always really close since her brother and him went to college together.
Santino Bonetti stood there before her in all his glory. His dark hair now shorter than the last time she saw him, his cheekbones sharp as always and his eyes deep set, he was obviously angry right now. Luna only smiled at him as she stepped aside to let him inside. Santino was carrying a lot of bags, though with the size of his arms made it seem like all of those bags had feathers in them. Whenever he visited, he would always come bearing gifts and food from Italy. Luna and Santino were fairly close to each other at her brother's house, they spent a while with each other on behalf of Luca when he was away on a business trip. He needed someone to watch his place for him, and Luna needed a place to hide from the paparazzi that were bombarding her home.
"It's been forever." Luna smiled, helping Santino set the bags on the floor. "What brings you here?"
"I came for you, signorina." Santino placed his hands on his hips, a frown on his face.
Luna laughed liking the way that Santino always got so sassy with her. As she started packing away the many containers of food that Santino placed on the kitchen island , she internally thanked God for him because her once empty fridge seemed to no longer have space when she was finished packing the food away.
"I can always count on you to fill my fridge." Luna smiled, leaning against the fridge door.
"Is that all I'm for? Food?"
Luna popped her lips and looked up, pretending to be in thought. Slowly a smile crept onto her lips when she saw that Santino was nearing closer. Her heart skipped a beat as she saw the slight smirk on his face, he was always an attractive man in her eyes. His broad shoulders, big arms and plump lips were perfect to her, he was exactly her type.
"Yep, you're my personal delivery man." Luna pointed her index out, pushing herself off the fridge.
"I'm sure I mean more to you than that, amore."
Santino grabbed her by the hand and brought her into a hug. She had fit perfectly in his arms, completely engulfing her tightly. Luna closed her eyes and smiled as she took in Santino's heated "man" scent. He smelt like expensive perfume and a holiday in Hawaii, but there was a slight scent of bread on his shirt. He probably went to the bread store before he came.
"I missed you, brontolo." Luna sighed, hugging Santino back tightly.
"I missed you too, cara mia."
There was a silence between them, a comfortable silence as they stayed tightly embraced. It was moments like these that kept Luna motivated, moments like these that gave her inspiration. So why hadn't she just chosen to tell the world that her and Santino were together, instead of going through the whole hassle of faking a marriage? Well, Santino and her were not together. They could never be.
They were never meant to be more than friends. He couldn't mean more to her than what this already. There couldn't be more in their relationship. There shouldn't. For Santino Bonetti had already found his other half in another Galvatto, and though it was not with Luna, it was with Luna's sister, Lucinda Galvatto. And Luna knew that she could never replace Lucinda in Santino's heart.
So she would remain here.
In this moment, hugging the man she couldn't have.
Having it mean nothing. Nothing but innocent and harmless love.
