he takes his pencil out of his bag
opens his computer
cracks a joke or two with a friend
pays attention to the lesson in earnest
what he doesn't register
what he doesn't take notice of
is her
no, not ever
he doesn't even consider
what she feels
when he walks by without a glance
but why should he?
to him
she is not fully there
at most
she is partially corporeal
there, but not fully
that's what she is in his head
to him
she is a blip in his existence
never to be considered
for more than a second
but to her
he
is
everything
and more.
he is fully there
in her mind
invading her existence,
her very being—
never gone.
