i'm not the same girl i was
one, three, five, or ten years ago
i turn 18 in one week.
i certainly didn't intend for this
year after year
waiting for my epic love story
yet being just too late
i turn 18 tomorrow.
"wait for the one,"
they say
it's easy to, really
when love comes effortlessly
i turn 18 in one hour.
i can't help but wonder
if i let life pass me by
this whole time
under the pretense of "waiting"
for the one
i'll just continue reminiscing
all that i've been missing
'cause by the time you've read this
i've turned 18.
