Codys Perspective
3rd person

" You asked me to stay. "

. . ★ . .

Cody perked his head up as he heard the bell ring, blinking cluelessly before actually processing what had happen. He clasped his hands together then looked at his textbook on his desk, grabbing it and shoving it into his bag. The day was long, so he was happy it was over. And plus, he and Noah had to work on the project. So maybe, just maybe, he could get answers out of the other.
Cody finished packing up, tossing his bag over his shoulder before following the rest of his classmates out the door. He spotted Noah walking down the hall, his head dipped down. Cody's eyes sparkled before he pushed through the crowd if students, making his way over to Noah,
"Noah! Hey, wait!" He shouted slightly, finally catching up to the his friend. Noah turned his head, looking at Cody before quickly turning back and facing the ground, "Hi, Cody." He plainly said, not having much emotion in his voice. Cody tilted his head, chuckling a bit before shrugging, "Soo, your house tonight, right? Y'know, for the project?" He asked with a warm smile.
Noah looked at Cody from the corner of his eyes and bit the inner area of his cheek before nodding, "Uhh, yea. That's right," He replied, avoiding eye contact. Cody nodded before hopping up and smiling, "Great! See you tonight, Noah!"
Noah blinked, shaking his head as he watched Cody hop away to his bus. But, he had finally talked to Cody without chickening out. Which was great.

. . ★ . .

Cody waddled up to Noah's door, knocking softly on it. He heard the pitter pattering of Noah's feet hurrying down the stairs towards the door. It was cold and rainy out, so Cody's hair was all wet. He was dumb enough to not bring a rain coat.
Noah opened the door, looking at Cody and scoffing, "I wasn't expecting you to not have a coat? Hurry inside," Noah pushed, grabbing Cody's sleeve and pulling him inside the house. Cody squeaked a tiny bit, letting himself get dragged. Noah closed the door behind them, looking at Cody and raising a brow, "Are you— cold?" He asked.
Cody was shivering, his teeth chattering quietly, "Yes. No. Kinda," He said hurriedly. Noah laughed before placing a hand on the others shoulder and taking him upstairs to his bedroom.
Noah sat Cody on his bed before grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around the other, his demeanor very gentle and motherly. Cody looked at Noah with a goofy smile on his face. Noah sat down next to his friend before turning his head and seeing Cody's expression,
"What? What is it," He asked curiously. Cody straightened his posture before nudging Noah, "Oh nothing, just the fact you're so caring right now. Thats quite new, huh?" Cody said sarcastically. Noah rolled his eyes, nudging back playfully, "Oh shut up. I'll go right back to being mean and sassy," Noah returned. Cody chuckled before burrowing up more in the blanket he had wrapped around him,
"So, are we gonna get to working on this project or no?" Cody asked, tilting his head. Noah  blinked, shrugging slightly, "Uhh I mean, we don't have to," He hummed. Cody's body relaxed a bit, smiling, "I'm way to cold to move right now, so we can let it wait a bit," He said. Noah didn't respond, instead Cody looked over to see Noah's face red while staring at him,
"Uhh, Earth to Noah? You there," Cody teased with a chuckle. Noah jumped, snapping out of his thoughts, "Oh yea, sorry, I zoned out." Cody scoffed a bit before scootching himself up on the bed, sitting against the wall. Noah watched him, his eyes having no thoughts behind them as he stared,
"You keep staring, you see something, Noah?" Cody asked teasingly. Noah rolled his eyes, "Yea, all I see is your moronic face," He replied. Cody rose a brow, cuddling more into his blanket, "Moronic is a big word," He said.
Noah just huffed and scootched over to Cody. Cody turned his head, looking at Noah before shifting himself closer to the other. He tilted his head up slightly, also having it turned to Noah,
"Noah, I uhm, have a question," He began. Noah turned his head to Cody, cocking his head to signal for Cody to continue.
"You always.. I don't know— Every-time I try talking to you at school you always seem to— Avoid me."
Noah widened his eyes slightly, looking away and grumbling a bit, "Why do you always bring this up?" He spat back. Cody cowered a bit, fidgeting with his hands, "I just wanna k—" Cody said before getting cut off,
"You wanna know? Really? Well maybe because I've been bullied. My whole life for 'being gay' all because I was too touchy with one boy! All because I was best friends with one boy. Maybe I feel like once I'm close with you, all that trauma from my fucking past coming back. How do I know your not gonna turn on me like he did? Huh? What if this is for your popular kid shits and giggles? Just to make fun of me later! I don't know who I can trust anymore, I—" Noah paused, breathing heavily before turning his head and looking at Cody who had a saddened expression on his face, tears swelling in his eyes. Noah stared, blinking and huffing.
Before anything, Cody grabbed Noah into his arms, hugging him tightly, "Noah... I'm so.. sorry," He mumbled softly. Noah's eyes went wide, his lips quivering as he teared up. Soon, he sniffled, hugging Cody back and squeezing the other boy. Cody rested his chin on Noahs head, keeping still as Noah quietly sobbed into his chest,
"I wish you told me sooner," He murmured quietly. Noah just continued crying quietly into Cody's chest, not wanting to let go.
It felt nice. All of it. The warmth of Cody's arms around him. The crying was refreshing. And the rain patting against the roof. It also felt nice to talk about his feelings. To not bottle things up like he usually did.

. . ★ . .

Its been a few minutes and Cody leaned over slightly, checking if Noah was still awake. If you want the answer, No. No he wasn't.
Noah was sound asleep, right on Cody's chest, cuddle up against him. Cody smiled, leaning his head against Noah's, humming softly as he soon, drifted off to sleep as well.
