Author POV (1 week later)

Soobin woke up early today, and he didn't have to leave to go to the office with his dad till 8. And he's been stressed lately, so he decided to let go. Soobin grabbed the white box from under his bed and opened it. He took his favorite stuffed animal out. It was a blue bunny that wore a white tie, his coloring books, and his green pacifier. Soobin looked at the time and saw it was 6:40. His dad doesn't come for him until 7:50.

'I'll set a timer to remind myself.'

He got onto his bed and made himself comfortable and looked through his coloring book for a coloring sheet. Soobin started to feel his brain get fuzzy and relaxed even more. He grabbed his pacifier and put it in his mouth.

"Soob-"

Soobin gasped, his pacifier falling out of his mouth, and looked at his now opened bedroom door. There stood his dad, both of them looking at each other in shock for a second until his dad's face changed to anger.

"Dad..." Soobin said, his voice shaking.

...........

Yeonjun looked at the time on his laptop and saw it had been passed the time Soobin ate his lunch. Usually, Soobin reminds him when Yeonjun gets too much in the zone when doing his school work. But ever since Yeonjun showed up for work today he's been acting strange Soobin, and he has set up a routine they do every day to get to know each other a bit more. But that didn't anything that was in the routine like sit and play games or coloring in one of Soobin's coloring books. Which shocked Yeonjun when Soobin said he didn't want color today. Yeonjun had learned Soobin loved coloring.

"Soobin, why didn't you remind me it was time for lunch?"

Soobin shrugged his shoulders, not even looking up from his phone. Yeonjun sighed and got up from his chair and walked to the kitchen.

'Maybe a peanut butter and jelly sandwich will make him feel better' Yeonjun thought, taking out the stuff to make the sandwich.

Yeonjun had learned during a 20-question game between him and Soobin that Soobin loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

"Soobin~ I made your favorite~" Yeonjun said, walking back into the room with Soobin's sandwich made the way he liked it.

Jelly on top, peanut butter on the bottom, no crust, cut in fours. Yeonjun placed the plate in front of Soobin and sat down across from him.

"I'm not hungry." Soobin told him, still not making eye contact with Yeonjun and continuing to play the game on his phone.

'Yeah, we are not about to do this. I did not make that sandwich for nothing.' Yeonjun thought.

He grabbed that phone out of Soobin's hand and put it in his pocket.

"Hey!" Soobin yelled, reaching to grab his phone.

Yeonjun gently pushed him and stood up. "What is wrong?" he asked.

"What?" Soobin snapped, looking up at him from the floor.

"What wrong? I know we barely know each other, but there is obviously something wrong with you."

Soobin looked down at his fingers and started to fidget with them. "Nothing," he whispered.

"Come on, you can talk to me." Yeonjun sat back down on the floor, but next to Soobin this time.

He watched as Soobin pondered if he should tell Yeonjun or not.

"Well..." Soobin started looking at Yeonjun.

Yeonjun smiled, nodding for him to continue.

"This morning my dad caught me doing something I'm not supposed to, and he got mad at me."

"Oh..." was all Yeonjun said, not really knowing what to say to the boy.

"Yeah."

"If you don't mind me asking what were you doing?"

"Hm?" Soobin looked at him confused.

Yeonjun laughed a bit "What is it that your dad doesn't want you doing?"

"Oh um it's kinda long and hard to explain," Soobin told him.

Yeonjun looked at the time on his watch and saw he had 5 more hours till his shift was over. "I have time," Yeonjun said, smiling.

Soobin sighed softly "I like to do kiddish things and my dad doesn't like that."

"What is wrong with that?" Yeonjun asked.

"You're probably thinking of something different, there is more to it. Anyway, I like doing it for comfort and or when I get really stressed. And I wanted to do it this morning before we came to the office, but my dad came and got me earlier than usual."

"Oh dang."

"Yeah," Soobin said with a sad look on his face.

"Well, how about you doing it now? I don't mind."

"Are you sure people find it weird when they find out..."

"I'm sure," Yeonjun said, smiling at him.

Soobin thought about it for a second. "Okay" he said, with a small smile.

"Great! But eat your sandwich. I've been hearing your stomach growling this whole time."

Soobin laughed, picking up one of the squares of the sandwich. Another thing Yeonjun learned this week is that he loves Soobin's smile and laugh.
