Chapter 4

The next day Jaden walked into class where Dr Crowler was waiting to begin. "Hello Jaden." Said Crowler as he looked at him. "Hey teach." Said Jaden as he kicked back in a seat off the back of the room. After a while the class was full and so Crowler began his lesson over the different types of cards. Jaden found the class boring and he found it annoying when he picked on Syress. "You know teach, you shouldn't be picking on my roommate and friend, after all we all watched as I schooled you." Said Jaden smirking as Crowler had a conniption.

After class was over Jaden went to go investigate the card shop when he bumped into someone. "Oh sorry, Uhm who are you?" Asked Jaden. "I am Alexis Rhodes, you're Jaden Yuki right the kid who not only beat Crowler but humiliated Chazz?" She said as she looked at him. "Yeah that would be me." He said calmly. "Well I'm interested in seeing your skills up close, would you wanna have a duel against me?" She asked smiling. "Hmm, sure, I could use a good duel, it'll help me test out a few new cards I got." He said smiling. She nodded and lead the way to the arena she wished to face him in. What neither of them knew was that Zane was watching. "Time to see if this kid lives up to his hype." Said Zane as he leaned against a wall.

Jaden activated his duel disk. "Since you challenged me I'll go first." Said Jaden as he drew a card. "Hmm I'll start us off by playing these two cards face down, now I'll summon Elemental Hero Stratos and use his ability to add one elemental hero from my deck to my hand and then I'll pass it off to you Alexis." He said calmly. "I draw, I'll start by playing this face down then I'll play Polymerization to fuse my Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater to form Cyber Blader, then I'll have her attack your elemental hero Stratos." She said smirking. "Thank you, I play Mask Change, to sacrifice Stratos and in his place I play Masked Hero Divine Wind." Said Jaden as a tornado appeared before the hero changed. Alexis quickly had Cyber Blader stop her attack just before the blade would've made contact. "Not bad." She said as she laid two more face downs before passing. He smiled and drew. "Alright I'll start by playing Skyscraper and then I'll play Polymerization fusing elemental hero Avion in my hand with elemental hero Necroshade to make Elemental Hero Great Tornado. Alexis smirked only to see her Cyber Bladers points didn't change. "Hey what gives, my card should've doubled in power." Said Alexis. "Yeah my Great Tornado halves my opponents atk points when he enters." Said Jaden smirking as he sent both monsters to attack. "I play Doble Passe on your divine wind so he attacks me directly but my Cyber Blader hits you as well." She said as she went down to 600 life points while Jaden went down to 1900 life points.

"Hey congrats you managed to drain half my life points." Said Jaden. "Now I summon Elemental Hero Blade Edge thanks to my Necroshade in my graveyard then I'll pass." He said calmly. She drew and groaned. "Alright let's see, Uhm I'll play this card face down in defense mode then play monster reborn to bring my Cyber Blader back in attack mode and equip her with the fusion weapon sending her to 3600 atk points. And now she will attack your divine wind." Said Alexis. "In response to that I activate me trap a Hero Emerges." Said Jaden as he held his hand out. "Uhm the far left." She said as she knew how the spell worked. He smiled and called Clayman to the field in defense mode causing her Cyber Blader to deal no damage due to the target change effect. "And with Clayman destruction I play Hero Signal to special summon my elemental hero Shadow Mist who adds Mask Change back to my hand which I activate turning him into Masked Hero Dark Law and with Shadow Mist in my grave I add evil hero Malicious Edge to my hand." Said Jaden as his turn finally began.

He drew a card and smiled as he knew he'd need to combo this just right. "I play my elemental recharge trap which gives me a 2000 life point boost sending me to 3900, I then play double summon before I cast Yubel by tributing my Dark Law and my Divine Wind. Then I summon my Grave Squirmer, I attack Grave Squirmer to destroy your face down monster, then after I drop to 300 life points I'll attack with Blade Edge and he and your Cyberblader will both destroy each other." Said Jaden. "Finally Great tornado will attack you directly and I win." Said Jaden smirking. "Dammit, good game Jaden, you really are as good as the rep you've already gained says you are." Said Alexis as she shook his hand to congratulate him on his well earned victory.
