Chapter 6 - Aftermath

"The main leader of the Enlightened Ones, Strix, has been defeated. So what now?", one of the council members said as the wager was a winner take all.

Benji and his other hybrid companions as he answered, "It is now a changing of the gaurd if you will."

Martin was relieved the threat of Morlin's rule was over. But there had to be new appointees for various positions. There was a sigh of relief and a brief quietness as realization set in.

"I admit. It has been a very long time coming for this change to happen. Long have I sought this day of liberation."

"Why did The Strix rule like this anyway?", asked Benji as he was paying his respects.

"Long ago vampires ruled wild and free. But when humans started catching on to us, the elders came of with their own democracy. This kept everything in check. The old leader was just and righteous and lead with compassion and dignity and established peace with lycans and other races of species. But one day Morlin, who was a new recruit and steward under the leader of the coven, saw the lycans could be a potential threat as the love of his life he had a crush and fell in love with a lycan alpha and they had elpoed due to a taboo love afair."

"So they forbid two opposite races getting together to form a powerful union? Typical. It's sad that even these days you can't even share simple things and live in peace without jealousy and hatred towards one another because of their backgrounds. Especially when they just ain't into you like that."

"I agree. Morlin had the 'if I can't have you, no one can mentally. It was the same with the Alpha's ex beta. She was jealous and conspired with Morlin in secret. He feared that a union so powerful could get in his way and potential overthrow our kind."

"As you are aware, it is a general factor. Werewolf-Vampire Hybrids possess the combined powers and abilities of both werewolves and vampires (both physical and mental state which enhanced the power and abilities of mind compulsion) to a greater degree, making them more powerful than most supernatural creatures. This union, as you've demonstrated, showed promise to such assumptions which are also facts."

"But in all honesty and truth, lycans felt the same way where I'm from and I'm sure it did here. And a hybrid is just a werewolf given vampire abilities. Some Vampires are bullies, Werewolves are no threat to them and yet they bully and harass them. True we could go to toe with super as vamps, but we just were skilled at fighting and our lycanthrope side helped a ton. Plus we fought in many wars and are highly intelligent. It wasn't easy to take down these ancients."

Abe walks up to Martin and Benji as the others clean the area and prepare for the council hall.

"So if someone wants the throne to change the rules...?"

"It would be exactly how lycans back home would do it."

"I knew we weren't so different after all. Lestant always spoke highly of your late father the chief and the tribe."

"He knew. And great minds think alike."

"What you all have back at your home we've so longed for it here and everywhere, all over the world. And Lestant is a great friend of ours. He blessed my child when he was just a baby. And was with the Strix for a while until everything went to shit."
