Omega (TFP AU)

Project Predacon

I didn't really want to write about the destruction of Darkmount because it was mainly fighting, and I'm not really interested in writing about fighting at the moment. So Darkmount is destroyed now, it went faster and easier due to Smokescreen's and Optimus' help from the start. (Sorry for not actually writing it out though.)

Ultra Magnus rolls into base, a singular energon cube on the back of his alt-mode. Bumblebee picks up the cube and Ultra Magnus transforms into his bipedal mode.

"We didn't find much else in the rubble of the former base," Ultra Magnus states.

Wheeljack walks through the space bridge, "You call this, not much else."

Wheeljack holds their lob ball in his servo. Wheeljack throws the ball toward Bulkhead, but it bounces off his chassis, flying towards the human kids. Smokescreen acts quickly, moving the metal railing to catch the lob ball before it hits anything.

"I'm never going to get used to that," Bulkhead mentions as he watches Smokescreen put the ball on the ground and fix the railing.

"Wheeljack!" Ratchet shouts, "you could have caused serious damage!"

"What were you thinking, soldier," Ultra Magnus scolds.

"I was thinking Bulk could catch that lob," Wheeljack comments.

"Allow me to make myself clear," Ultra Magnus continues, "as Optimus Prime's second in command, I have no intention of tolerating wrecker behavior."

Wheeljack sighs, "Somethings never change."

"Jackie," Bulkhead warns.

Ultra Magnus practically growls, "Need I remind you that it was Optimus Prime himself who assigned me to command your wreckers back on Cybertron, and get you loose cannons under control. An effective combat unit begins with discipline. If you won't accept that, feel free to choose the path of least resistance, as you did before."

"If my ship weren't in a twisted wreck at the present, I'd gladly do that, sir," Wheeljack states as he walks off.

Smokescreen watches carefully. He doesn't like it when his teammates fight, he wants to talk to Wheeljack, but he wouldn't even know where to start. Smokescreen decided to go out for a short drive instead. After the Omega Lock incident, he's been needing to go out and burn some rubber more often. Maybe it's built up energy, but that's only an uneducated guess.

Smokescreen did a few laps around the base before entering again. He transforms into his bipedal mode and looks around. Everyone was talking about something, but as soon as he entered they went quite.

"Where have you been, soldier?" Ultra Magnus asks.

"I went out for a drive," Smokescreen states.

"Next time, ask for permission before going on a joy ride," Ultra Magnus speaks seriously.

Smokescreen opens his intake to protest but instead just says, "Yes, sir."

"Now go stack those empty cubes," Ultra Magnus commands.

"Yes, sir," Smokescreen walks over to help Bumblebee stack cubes.

"I've got the power of the Omega Lock and somehow I'm still a rookie," Smokescreen mumbles.

"Hey, Smokescreen," Bumblebee grabs Smokescreen's attention.

"Yeah?" Smokescreen looks up from the cubes.

"Thanks for giving me my voice back."

"Oh, that. Yeah," Smokescreen chuckles, "I guess it was a happy accident."

"Are you okay?" Bumblebee sounds concerned.

"I'm fine," Smokescreen continues stacking empty cubes.

Eventually Optimus returns with the fossilized remains of a Predacon. Smokescreen stares at the fossil, completely engrossed in the details on it. After a while Smokescreen speaks up.

"One thing still doesn't follow," Smokescreen mentions, "Predacons went extinct on Cybertron. So what would their bones be doing here?"

Ratchet starts researching through their database.

"I've found this from our historical texts," Ratchet shows a few pictures and texts on a screen.

"Those are metal versions of creatures from our Greek mythology and medieval literature," Jack states.

"Not dinosaurs," Raf comments.

"It would stand to reason that Predacons did indeed walk upon this Earth in ancient times. As they seem to have been the basis for much of humankind's folklore. Illustrating once again that the pasts of Earth and Cybertron are inextricably linked," Optimus says.

After a while Smokescreen, Bumblebee, and Optimus go out on a mission. Optimus flies to one area, leaving Smokescreen and Bumblebee together. They transform into their alt-modes and drive down the road. Eventually they arrived at the area where the Decepticon signal originated, there seemed to be some kind of mining operation going on.

"Hey Bee, mind if I go Predacon again?" Smokescreen asks.

"You mean that thing Miko called a wolf?" Bumblebee questions.

"Yeah, that," Smokescreen chuckles.

"Sure, go ahead," BumbleBee watches carefully, wanting to see how it will work.

The transformation looked unnatural. It looks similar to when Smokescreen transforms from his bipedal mode to his alt-mode, but it also looks too fluid. It almost looks like parts of Smokescreen turns into liquid metal to change into forms that he wasn't originally meant to make. To Bumblebee, it was a mixture of cool and creepy.

Smokescreen easily tore through the Vehicons, letting out a roar after they were all defeated just to show off. Smokescreen transforms back into his bipedal mode and runs up to Bumblebee.

"I really needed that," Smokescreen comments as he bounces up and down a little.

Suddenly Shockwave walks through the smoke that covered the mine entrance, a Predacon fossil in his servo. Bumblebee and Smokescreen transform out their blasters and point them towards Shockwave. Shockwave fires a shot, the two Autobots jumped out of the way and fired a few shots at Shockwave. Shockwave hit one of the large machines that littered the vast area, causing it to explode, sending off a chain reaction. Smokescreen quickly makes a shield and himself and Bumblebee. After the explosions stop, the transform into their alt-modes and drive after Shockwave, who transformed into his own alt-mode.

They end up on a bridge, Shockwave firing blasts at the two Autobots from his tank like alt-mode. Optimus flies down from the sky, drawing Shockwave's fire. Optimus fired a shot off and Shockwave, causing him to flip over and transform into his bipedal mode, Shockwave also drops the fossil a few feet in front of him.

Soundwave flies through a space bridge and fires off shots at the Autobots. Shockwave uses the cover fire to retrieve the fossil. Bumblebee and Smokescreen speed towards Shockwave, Bumblebee transforms into his bipedal mode and kicks Shockwave in the back. Smokescreen transforms and jumps up, kicking Shockwave to the ground. Bumblebee grabs the fossil but Shockwave hits him away and into the railing of the bridge.

Optimus gets electrocuted and starts falling, Smokescreen notices and uses the metal railing to catch Optimus. Smokescreen is too focused on making sure Optimus is okay that he doesn't realize that Shockwave is right behind him. Bumblebee hits Shockwave, getting Smokescreen's attention, he gently drops Optimus on the ground and focuses on helping Bumblebee get the fossil out of Shockwave's hand.

The fossil splits apart, Bumblebee and Smokescreen hold a chunk but a small piece splits off and falls off the bridge. Soundwave opens a space bridge and transports the fossil before Optimus can get it. Shockwave and Soundwave quickly exit. The Autobots may have got the fossil, but Shockwave still got a piece, and that is probably more than enough to clone more Predacons.
