Omega (TFP AU)

Regeneration

Dreadwing had contacted the base, he wanted to meet. Everyone except Ratchet went to the meet spot. Dreadwing was there to give the Autobots the Forge, an unexpected but welcome surprise. He stated in his own strange way that the Decepticons betrayed him, but he refused to join the Autobots. Dreadwing left, when the Autobots got back to base Ratchet was on the ground.

"Ratchet! Is everything alright?" Optimus rushed over to his friend.

Ratchet slowly got up, "I have a feeling Starscream came back..."

Arcee immediately left to see if the Keys were still there. She came back moments later, "The Keys are gone."

Scrap.

"We got the Forge only to lose the Keys," Smokescreen almost whined the words.

Optimus spoke up, "It's safe to assume Starscream will use the Keys to get back into the ranks of the Decepticons."

He was right...

It was Ratchets turn to talk, "With the Decepticons in possession of all three Omega Keys, we should use the Forge to replicate our own."

"Even with such power," Optimus responded, "Their reconstruction would require a level of expertise I do not possess."

"I guess we better hope Megatron doesn't destroy the Keys to prevent anyone from ever going home," Arcee comments.

Optimus went on to explain Megatron would more likely use the Keys to restore Cybertron for a political advantage. Smokescreen wasn't all too interested in politics so he only partly paid attention to it.

"While Megatron may have the Keys he has yet to discover the existence of the Omega Lock itself," Optimus stated bringing Smokescreens attention back.

"Wait, now you lost me," Arcee said.

"That which the three relics were designed to activate. we must locate the device before Megatron does and secure it until we can recover the Keys," Optimus responded.

Ratchet pointed out, "There are no more Iacon entries to decode, this lock could be anywhere on Earth."

"Actually, it's on Cybertron," Smokescreen spoke up, "In the Sea of Rust."

"What," Ratchet looked at Smokescreen, "How do you know?"

"I- uhh..." Smokescreen wasn't actually sure, "I just do..."

"He's right," Optimus responded, "Alpha Trion revealed its location to me during the message conveyed by the Star Saber."

Smokescreen ended up getting lost in thought, trying to find out why he knew where the Omega Lock was. The next thing he knew Optimus had used the Forge to make the ground bridge into a space bridge. Eventually everyone was getting ready to leave, except Ratchet who was staying back to control the bridge. Optimus used the Forge once more to repair the Star Saber, and man was it cool looking, Smokescreen swore it was longer. Off they went to Cybertron, with the Iacon relics.

I won't be writing the fight scene, if you don't remember how it goes then you can watch the episode. (Regeneration, 2x25) I might write it later though.

They had successfully retrieved the Omega Keys and were heading to the Omega Lock.

Arcee spoke, "Our head start won't last long."

"This is where Alpha Trion said we'd find it," Smokescreen responded. With every step closer to the location Smokescreen could feel its presence grow, but he kept that to himself.

"These are the coordinates," Optimus stated.

There stood three small pedestals, each one with a hole for a Key, they stood in an open triangle. A circle platform sat in the middle, low enough to easily step onto, and that was exactly what Smokescreen felt like he should do.

"Doesn't look like much," Bulkhead pointed out.

Optimus contacted Ratchet, "Ratchet, we have located the Omega Lock." He then spoke out loud to the group, "According to Alpha Trion the Omega Lock is a conduit to the very All Spark itself."

Suddenly the keys started to glow and shake, then each pedestal lit up followed by the low platform. The lights spread out far, the ground started to shift, the full Omega Lock was revealed. Smokescreen could feel it tug at his Spark, telling him to move, but where?

Suddenly Megatron arrived, "Autobots, I would suggest that you put a halt to your task and hand over those Keys."

Smokescreen snapped back, "And why would we do that?"

Knockout, Starscream, and Soundwave walked through a space bridge, each one holding one of the human kids.

"So that i may hand over the humans," Megatron answered.

"And if we refused?" Optimus questioned.

"Then i will have no choice but to open the pods, exposing your pets to Cybertron's toxic atmosphere," Megatron said as he inches away from Optimus' face. "And then we can all watch them instantly perish."
