Chapter 19

Jack and I were the talk of the school; we had just gotten back together and everyone wanted to know the details.

All of my friends had been supportive about Jack and I trying again, apart from Rhys of course.

He tried to persuade me into getting back with Kellan, he even tried to bribe me with money.

Also, as soon as word got round that I was with Jack again, Kellan wanted me back. Which confused me as he broke up with me to keep his distance from Jack. Strange right?

Anyway, prom was about a week away and the tickets had come on sale.

Jack asked me in the most romantic way... Not.

He literally bought the tickets, found me after school and pushed the tickets into my hands, only giving me a questioning shrug.

Of course I said yes, but it kind of hurt that he didn't care to put much effort into the asking.

"So, who are you guys going to prom with?" I asked the girls as we sat in Mahogany's car on the way to the shopping boutiques. Mahogany was driving, while I sat shotgun, Mack and Bella in the back.

"Well, I invited this boy from a different school. His name's Jacob Whitesides and he's just perfect." Mahogany smiled at the thought of her prom date, none of us had even heard of this Jacob before so we were looking forward to meeting him.

"Mine's a surprise." Mack winked at us all as she tried to hold back her giggles.

"We all know that I'm obviously going with Jack, so what about you Bella?" I looked into the rear-view mirror to see her cheeks flushed a pinky color.

"Umm, well, I hope you don't mind but... Your brother asked me to go with him." She stared down into her lap, a nervous smile on her face.

"Bella, I'm fine with you going to prom with Rhys." I reassured her and she smiled thankfully at me.

They had all picked out their dresses while I still stood in the changing room, looking at myself in the mirror. This was the eighth dress I had tried on and I didn't want this one either.

I stepped out of the changing rooms and my friends wrinkled up their noses at the blue dress I was wearing.

They all looked so beautiful in their dresses and I just felt so ugly.

Mahogany had chosen a long red dress that clung tightly to her body. The dress matched perfectly with the red lipstick she would wear to prom and a pair of black heels with red bottoms made the look complete.

Mackenzie picked to wear a mint colored dress that was also long. It contrasted beautifully with her bright blue eyes, and to finish of the look she paired the dress with some white heels.

Isabella had chosen a long navy blue dress - however, the blue fabric only came to half way down her thighs before it turned into a see through fabric with just a tint of the blue. It suited her tan skin and her hair seemed darker next to the blue. She paired the dress with some navy blue heels.

"I can't find a dress that suits me." I walked back into the changing rooms and peeled the dress off of me.

I pulled back on the casual white dress I was wearing before pulling open the curtains and screaming.

I didn't mean to scream as loudly as I did, but he scared me.

Jack pulled me into a tight embrace as I tried to slow my heart rate back to it's normal pace.

"You scared me." I mumbled into his shoulder.

"No s.hit." He laughed before pulling away from me. Leaving me feeling lonely.

Jack grabbed onto my hand and led me back towards the dresses that hung neatly on the racks.

I attempted to pull him to the dresses within my price range but he dragged me towards the designer dresses. The other girls had gotten designer dresses because they saved up for them. I, on the other hand, spent my money as soon as I got it.

"Jack, I can't afford those dresses." I spoke shyly as he examined the fabrics, making faces at the ones he didn't like.

"But I can." He smiled down at me and my eyes filled with guilt.

"You're not buying me a prom dress, especially not a designer one." I sternly told him yet he just nodded his head.

"I will pay you back." I narrowed my eyes at him slightly but he just found it funny. He carefully leaned down to kiss my lips, the taste of mint lingering for a few seconds.

We searched through the dresses and, with the help of the clerk, managed to find two the may look nice on me.

I shut the curtain behind me and ignored Jack's attempts of getting me to let him in the changing room too.

The first dress was a watermelon pink color, it had small slits just below my boobs and small rhinestones embedded in random places. Even though the dress was beautiful, it didn't really suit me.

I didn't bother to show the other as I was getting annoyed now. Tenth time lucky?

"Are you ready yet?" Jack whined and I rolled my eyes at his impatience, then realizing he couldn't seeing me and feeling like an idiot.

"Nearly." I sighed while slipping on the next dress.

This was the dress for me.

This dress was ice blue with different regal-like patterns sewn on throughout the dress. A small, silver built-in belt/strap sat snug around my waist, the top of the dress was tight while the bottom subtly became more puffy. The dress suited my skin tone and hair perfectly, my dark eyes contrasting with the light color of the dress.

It was perfect.

I proudly stepped out from behind the curtain and Jack's jaw dropped.

"You look beautiful!"

"Stunning."

"Amazing."

"Hot."

I gave Jack a stern glare at the word 'hot', I didn't really like that word but I knew he was just trying to compliment me.

"You look gorgeous." He smiled while pecking my cheek.

I hadn't noticed that the clerk had left the room until she came back with a pair of beautiful white ankle strap heels that had a golden bottom. They went perfectly with the dress.

Everything was perfect.

Idk if you guys found that chapter boring but it was kind of just like a filler chapter.

I think I will update again today (but idk) because I'm at home at the minute due to me not being well enough to go to school.

I felt really ill this morning but I'm feeling better now - tbh I'm just glad that I'm not at school today but I have a science test tomorrow :(

Anyways, lots of you commented on the chapter where I spoke about people being included which made me a very happy person! Ily all <3

Idk it just feels like my music is getting really weird. Like, the stuff I listen to ranges from Linkin Park, to One Direction, to 5SOS, to Jack and Jack, etc.
