"...you have been found guilty of the crime of murder. The evidence presented before us at trial has shown that..."
The murder of three citizens in the Xianzhou Luofu for no apparent reason. All while entirely in a perfectly healthy state of mind, relatively speaking, that is. Mara might not have been involved, medical reports came back and there was nothing wrong with the brain. All those lives taken, and all for fun.
"...the defendant's sentence shall be life in prison. This will serve as your punishment, to deter others, and to protect..."
This person was barely even listened to the consequences of their own actions. They had their fun, so all they did was smile.
Nowadays, however, this person wished they had listened. Nowadays, the only thing this person hears is their own blood-curdling scream.
"Recording Patient 627's reactions, now. Further testing with 627 has yielded us the following results: the reaction compared to other elixirs are just as vivid with only a tenth of the dosage used. Recommend increased research effort into the FR-56 and its formula."
"Please... No more... Stop... I-I'll do anything..."
This person was barely human to begin with. Their crimes were heinous and all done with no motivators other than fun. But now, they're just reduced to a lab-rat eternally restrained on a hospital bed. Now, they're just 627.
Patient 627 looked in horror as the "doctor" placed the mask over their mouth and nose, fastened the straps behind their back, and turned on the machine that gently blew air to 627.
"Please... Please.... PLEASE!"
The doctor held a needle in his hand and injected the green liquid into a condensing chamber hooked up to the machine. The liquid clouded up and began to flow through the tubes and to the mask.
"PLEASE! NO! ENOUGH!"
627 screamed and squirmed around to try and fight, but the fight was useless. Large metal clamps kept his stomach, arms and legs, and hands and feet strapped down. As 627 saw the gas approach the mask, the doctor leaned down to look 627 in the eye.
"Shh... It's alright... It's okay to be afraid..."
Meanwhile, in an adjacent room, another doctor had just finished his "sessions" with his "patient." He watched as his subject was wheeled out, all while the subject was clawing at the air, shivering, and screaming at random.
Right on cue, another patient was wheeled in for the doctor. He gave the new subject a quick glance and smirked.
"I didn't realize we were using our own men now..."
"Ayy, ayy, ayy... Look, this has to be a misunderstanding from the boss, 'kay? Now, how 'bout you let me out of here... Please!?"
To ensure "compliance," fresh patients are still strapped down on the wheelchairs as they are taken to the facility.
The doctor looked at his clipboard and wrote something down, each pen stroke sending the new patient into even more of a panic attack.
