As I reach Celeste she jumps on me to give me an excited hug that almost takes us both to the ground from the force. "I am so excited for you Atlas! You are amazing so I am glad that you are joining the team!" Celeste yells into my ear causing me to cringe. I detangle myself from her and stand up straight. Her happiness is contagious and it brings a smile to my face. "Yeah, yeah, you were right. I guess I am playing soccer this year after all. Come on, let's go get changed so we can head back to my house. We still have to figure out what is going on with me." I directed while making my way towards the gym so we could change.

Soon Celeste and I are changed and leaving the school. I am excited about joining the soccer team but I can't focus on that right now. I need to figure out what is going on with me and why those scratches just disappeared from my arm overnight. We make our way to my house and by the time we get there, I am beyond starving. I unlock the front door and walk inside with Celeste following behind. I take off my shoes by the door and toss my bookbag on the couch in the living room before going to the kitchen.

"Do you want anything to eat Celeste? I am starving so I am going to make something to eat if you want any." I tell her while I search through the fridge in search of something appealing to make. I noticed some chicken and decided to make some chicken alfredo for the both of us. I begin to gather the rest of the ingredients that I need to make the food while Celeste sits at the table with her laptop. Once I have all of the ingredients I start cooking. I've made this dish so many times I swear I could make it with my eyes closed. In a short time, I have the food cooked and scoop up large helpings for both of us onto plates. I join Celeste at the table with our food and look at what she has been doing on her laptop.

"So what do you think happened to my arm?" I ask her while I inhale the food that is on my plate. Celeste is sitting next to me typing stuff into Google and trying to come up with an explanation for my arm. She pauses from her search to eat food off of her plate before turning towards me. "I'm not really sure. There isn't anything online that can explain how they just vanished. The only stuff I can find is articles on why you would wake up with scratches on your body but not how they can just disappear." She explains while finishing up the food on her plate. We finish eating in silence both lost in our own thoughts. Once we've both cleaned our plates of food I gather them and quickly wash them.

I turn away from the sink and lean against the counter to look at Celeste. We are both confused about the situation but maybe it's just something we can ignore. "You never told me what happened on your search in the woods last night. Did you end up finding anything while you were out there?" Celeste asks. I proceeded to tell her about feeling like something was chasing after me and finding a woman's corpse with eery golden eyes. She listened to everything I said and asked questions when she needed any clarification. Telling her about the entire thing helped calm my nerves a bit.

"So you are saying that the woman had golden eyes? That doesn't sound normal. How can a person have golden eyes like that?" She asks trying to wrap her head around everything I told her. She is just as confused about the entire thing as me. "I'm not sure but it was spooky that's for sure. Then being attacked on my way home made it even more crazy." I tell her recalling what happened right outside my house. I don't know what rammed into me last night but it had to be big to make me fall that hard. I started to feel a headache coming from all of the confusing thoughts that were jumbling around in my head. "My head is starting to hurt from all of this. I think I am going to go to bed before it gets worse. Are you staying over again or going home?" I inquired looking at Celeste. "I think I am going to go home but I will be here bright and early to walk with you to school." She informed me while packing up her stuff so she could leave.

I walked Celeste out and said goodbye before locking the door and heading up to my room. Once I reached my room I changed and took some medicine because the pain was getting worse. I turned out the lights in my room before crawling into my bed and falling asleep. I woke up feeling cold and heard a rustling sound near me. I opened my eyes and it took a minute for them to adjust in the dark. I jumped up with a start after I realized I was no longer in my bedroom. The sound of crickets and leaves blowing in the wind overwhelmed me. 'How the hell did I end up outside in the woods?' I thought to myself as I took in more of my surroundings. I noticed police tape attached to some trees near me and my blood ran cold.
