Celeste and I are quiet on the walk to my house. I know she has a million questions to ask but I'm not sure how I am going to answer them. I don't even know the answers to them myself. Hopefully working together we can figure out what is going on with me. Once we reach my house Celeste and I both bolt up the stairs and into my bedroom.

We toss our bags on the floor by my desk and sit on my bed. I stare at my clasped hands in my lap not wanting to break the silence first. The bed moves and then I hear a bag zip open before I finally look up. Celeste grabs her laptop from her bag before sitting back on the bed. I give her a quizzical look while she turns on her laptop.

Celeste pauses and looks me in the eye before finally speaking. "I want to know everything weird that has happened to you today. I already know that you have grown taller and curvier but what else has happened to you today?" Feeling a storm raging in my head I let out a frustrated sigh.

"I don't know what is going on with me but it's really starting to piss me off. First, I got this creepy feeling that I was being watched in English class. When I looked outside at the woods I saw red eyes watching me. It was like I couldn't look away that was until the bell ringing startled me. Then I was so overwhelmed by scents that I got sick and threw up in the bathroom at school. That's when I noticed that my eyes were gold again like they were last night. Are they still like that?" I ask while looking at Celeste anxiously waiting for her response.

Celeste shakes her head and my body relaxes a bit from the knowledge. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before opening them again. Celeste's eyes soften and she grabs my hands giving them both a little squeeze. "Okay, so you have a super sensitive smell now and your eyes glow gold at times. That doesn't explain what happened in gym class with you and those two girls. Why did you pummel those girls with speed like the Flash?" Celeste questions before letting go of my hands and grabbing her laptop from where she set it on the bed next to her.

I stiffened feeling conflicted about telling her what I heard the girls saying in class. My eyes begin to blur with unshed tears while my throat begins to constrict. I look down swallowing slowly before answering her. "I heard the girls talking about me before the last game started." I look up at Celeste who has a puzzled look on her face. "They said that I wasn't that good at soccer and how it was ridiculous for Coach to let me join the team without trying out. That isn't the part that irritated me. They also said that they couldn't believe how we were friends since I am a weirdo. They thought the only way we could be friends is because you pity me due to my dad dying." I cry out as tears slowly stream down my face making it hard to see.

My shoulders shake as I finally allow myself to break. My tears fall from my eyes like a waterfall and my chest feels tight as I try to regulate my breathing. I pull my legs into my chest wrapping my arms around them. After several minutes the tears have slowed and I look at Celeste through my watery lashes. She looks shocked but quickly recovers before pulling me towards her and giving me a gentle hug. I sniffle while I hug her back before letting go to save her laptop from being crushed between us.

"Don't ever think that we are friends out of pity or that you are weird. You are my best friend and you always will be no matter what. I love you and I don't blame you for how you reacted in the gym. I would have done the same thing had I heard what those girls were saying." Celeste ensures while she fixes her laptop on her lap and opens the browser.

I give her a grateful smile and move closer to her in order to see the screen better. "I think I have an idea about what is going on with you but I want to research a bit about it first," Celeste explains while I watch her type in supernatural creatures in the search engine. I'm confused about her looking up creatures that don't exist but I don't say anything as I watch her work.

Celeste pulls up multiple links and stories about werewolves as we sit there in silence. She looks up what their abilities are and I move closer to look at the screen in interest. Many of the abilities that are shown correspond with what has been happening to me. My brain feels ready to explode because there is no way I could be a werewolf. It's not physically possible since they don't actually exist.

I look at Celeste with hidden questions running through my mind. "I know this doesn't seem real to you but I am certain that you are indeed a werewolf. I've heard stories from my grandma about them when I was younger. She always told me that though they sound like a myth they are real but easily hide among regular humans. I was told that people can either be born or bitten to become one." She explained to me as she continued to read more information.

"How could I be one if my family aren't werewolves and I wasn't bitten by one?" I ask her as I continue to read along with her. "From what I have found it appears a person can be turned from a scratch by a werewolf if the werewolf's intent is to turn the individual," Celeste answered while showing me what she found. I read the information and then lay down on the bed. All of this is giving me a headache. I don't understand how this could be what's really happening to me.

I cover my eyes to block the light and soothe my head. "Why would a werewolf want to intentionally turn me? It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not anything special and I certainly don't have any special skills that could make me desirable." I say trying to ignore the pain in my head.

The bed dips more and I realize that Celeste has laid down next to me. "I'm not sure why they chose to turn you but they must have a reason behind it. The only way we would know is if we asked them ourselves." She states. I uncover my eyes, turning to look at her. "This is a lot to take in and I don't think I want to meet the person that decided to turn me into a werewolf. Let's grab something to eat and watch some movies. Are you planning on staying over tonight?" I ask her while sitting up on the bed.

Celeste sits up as well placing her hand on my shoulder to stop me from getting off the bed. I glance at her. "Yeah, I'm staying so let's pig out and be lazy." She jokes before letting go and standing up. I laugh and follow her out of my room to order takeout and grab snacks. We decided on getting Chinese food and watching some slasher movies. Hours quickly pass before we decide to go to bed unconcerned with the information we learned and my headache that never went away.
