Ch.9: Singer

"What do you mean we don't have to kiss anymore?"

"I've decided to just record your shoes and your hands on Amy's waist. The people will go crazy wondering how the kiss went. Besides it's more meaningful that way."

"Since when does this show care about being meaningful?"

There is a change of plans. The director says that the kiss is no longer necessary and they will be using a different kind of shot. One in which contact is no longer necessary.

"Well, Shadow, if I didn't know you better, I would have assumed that you want that kiss with Amy."

The director teased to which Shadow did not take any liking to this.

The dark hedgehog just rolls his eyes and walks away. He did not bother to look at Amy.

"Let's just finish recording so I can go take a nap."

And so everyone went back to work.

All of them in a very professional manner. So professional that it became awkward. Usually, there would be some jokes or playing around between the crew members but this time it's all quiet. And that may be due that the two protagonists seem ... distant.

"And cut! That's a wrap!"

They had finally finished recording the last scene for the first season. It is not up to them if they want to record another season, it's the public's decision. If the rating is good, they will receive more.

If not ... Well, they tried.

It's all a risk, especially because they are adapting fanfiction.

"Finally, I'll go take a nap," Shadow is about to walk off the set but the director interrupts him.

"Actually, Shadow-"

"No."

"Shadow, it's important," Mia says as she steps into the set. There is a serious look on her face and Shadow knows that Mia is not one to play around. Especially since Mia does not give Shadow last-minute assignments when they are not part of his schedule.

"It better be good."

"Hello Shadow, I am Tyler Sweet."

Her blond hair is curled on the tips. Light blue eyes that matched her bright smile. Red lipstick makes a bold statement. She wears heels even when she is taller than most women. Wearing casual boyfriend jeans and a top that shows off her shoulders.

"I'll be recording the OST for the show."

Tyler gets closer to him and Shadow does not move. Not because he didn't have anything to say but because he had so many things he wanted to share that he could not formulate words.

And then he has to remind himself that he is not just a fan.

Well, he is a fan ... but famous as well.

"Nice to meet you Tyler, I am-"

"Shadow the Hedgehog, a famous actor and heartbreaker among actresses. I just hope you don't break my heart," Tyler says. "Or I'll have to write a song about you."

It is not the perfect place to meet someone. On a boring office space in the recording studios. But it is safer for both of them. Shadow could only imagine the things she had to go through to go unnoticed.

"If you ever write a song about me then I hope it's a good one," Shadow says and he looks at Tyler who has not stopped smiling since they sat on the table.
