"Alright, students!" The principal, Mr. Wright, clapped his hands to get the students attention. I watched as the students sat in their seats as Mr. Wright stood in front of the class. "Unfortunately, Ms. Pilgrim quit yesterday and we had to hire another teacher for you. Now," he continues, "I want you all to be on your best behaviour as Mr. Han will be your English teacher now."
I stand by the classroom door ready to walk inside. "I know this is your last year as high school seniors, some of you may want to pass this class if you want to get into universities of your choice," Mr.Wright says. "Mr. Han, if you would do the honors."
I walk inside and feel every eye on me. "Thank you, Mr. Wright." As I stand in front of the class, I smile adjusting my glasses. "Hi, I'm Han Jisung but you can call me Mr. Han."
**VERA's POV**
I watch as a young man emerges through the door. The soft glow of sunlight cascaded through the window, casting an ethereal glow on the scene. Standing at the front of the class stood the young man with flowing locks of vibrant purple hair.
His hair seemed to defy natural boundaries, cascading the softness that whispered with every movement. The hue of his hair was a mesmerizing blend of deep plum, vivid amethyst, and electric lavender, creating a tapestry of captivating shades that shifted and shimmered as if touched by magic. I was in awe by his beauty. The glasses he wore made him look older.
I glanced around the room and every female student suddenly had heart eyes making every male student hang their head low because now everyone is going to be raving about the new teacher. As Mr. Wright, our principal, exits the class it gets quiet real fast. And awkward. Until Annabelle, my best friend, raises her arm.
"Yes?"
"Mr. Han, your accent. You're not from around here, are you?" She asks.
He chuckles. And now his smile, wow. "You are correct, Ms...?"
"Annabelle Harper."
"Well, Ms. Harper you are correct. I studied abroad for a bit before moving back here," he replied. "Anything else you want to know?"
"You don't look old enough to be an English teacher," Aaron asks, one of the students sitting at the front.
"I'm 23, soon to be 24. But that does not mean you and I can be friends. I am your teacher and you all are my students."
"Dang, strict right off the bat," Anna nudges me with her elbow. "He's cute though."
"Anna, your boyfriend is clawing someone's wall knowing you're crushing on your teacher," I say rolling my eyes.
"Psh. Chris is the only one for me. Besides, Chris is taking me out this weekend," she says. Chris and Anna met at a party 6 months ago and even though he was a few years older than her, they hit it off from the start. He was very sweet and doting on her which made me at ease knowing she's taken care of. Plus, she was very happy with him and will always get heart shaped eyes whenever she talked about him, even annoying at times.
"Alright. Pop quiz!" Everyone in the room groans, including Anna. "It's not going to counted towards your final grade. It's just so I can get to know you all better," Mr. Han hands out leaflets of paper. "You can start when you get the quiz and you all have 20 minutes to finish."
When I see the quiz and read the questions, my eyes light up. The questions are based on the romance novels which I have read. It includes pride and prejudice as well. One of my favorites. As I flip the page, the ladt question is a Shakespeare's question.
