AUBREY'S POV:

Morning.

7:30, my ear blasting alarm went off. BEEP. BEEP. BEEEEEP.

"Hngh.."

I slowly sat up, rubbing my eyes as my comforter fell off the mattress. I felt the chill air from my cracked window blow through my bright, messy hair. I slipped off my nightshirt and slid on a sports bra, attempting to wake myself up with the suffocating sensation. "MEEEEP!" Bunbun sat in her hutch, she woke up as well, yet she was a lot louder. "Mornin'.. Do you want breakfast..?"I smiled softly at her, standing up to grab her food.

"Here you go.." I shook the food into her bowl, there wasn't a large amount left, but it was enough for a single meal.

"I'll get you some more food while I'm out, alright?"

I smiled softly at her, something I rarely showed to anyone.

I continued getting dressed then began heading downstairs, my nail bat in hand. "Mom..?" No response, she was just passed out on the couch again.

I began to open the door when I heard a faint gasp, a sound that I have become used to.

"..Bye."

KNOCK KNOCK

...

KNOCK KNOCK

...

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

...

"..Come out already you fuck."

I stood in front of that flower-loving-twink's door,

"I... AU-Aubrey..!? You.. What are you doing here..?"

Basil's legs trembled, it was as if he saw a big sprout mole in front of his door or something. "Basil.."

"Where is Sunny?"

I glared into his eyes, hoping to get an answer.

"I-I don't know.."

He fiddled with his fingers, looking towards the floor.

"..Alright."

I turned away, beginning to walk away from the plant "infested" house.

"I- wait.."

He stood upon the doormat, looking worryingly at me.

"What..?"He was still trembling as always, his eyes were wide open. "Please.. W-will you come inside..?"

He held one of his hands out slightly, welcoming me inside.

I soon stepped in, the scents and smells of flowers filling the room. Everywhere you looked, there was some form of green life sprouted around. "Oh.. Who is this..?"

A woman that looked about middle age with light brown hair stood in the kitchen, she wore a pink apron and bright blue jeans.

"A-ah.. P-Polly, do you remember the name Aubrey..?"

The woman's expression widened. "This.. THIS is Aubrey..?"

She turned to face towards me, looking surprised, I don't blame her.

"A-ah, my apologies.. You look very different, Aubrey.."

She reached her hand out for a handshake, giving me a soft smile.

I politely shook her hand, attempting to look somewhat sophisticated. "No worries." I smiled, slowly letting go of her soft hand. We talked for a bit, avoiding the conversation of what had happened to me and Basil within the past couple of years. "Ah, well, I should probably get going.. I still need to run some errands today.."

She began walking to the front door, her purse in hand.

"It was nice seeing you, Aubrey." She sounded genuine, unlike anyone who ever really talks to me.

Polly has always been sweet, she's similar to Basil, except she's more talkative. The first time I met her, the group was hanging out at the park, and Basil twisted his ankle. I was voted to go to Basil's house to get some help, which was when I was met with that sweet, kind young lady. We sped walk back to the park, and the two brothers had carried Basil back to his house.

Once I had finished viewing my flashback, Polly had already driven off. Me and Basil were left standing in the living room, some weird reality show playing softly on the TV. "W-well.. Uhm.."

Basil began to fidget again, he seemed really worried about something. "So.. What did you wanna ask me again..?"

I spoke softer than usual, for Basil hadn't always taken "tough talker's" well. "Well..?"

I waited for a reply.

"Do.. Do you know where Sunny might have gone..?"

I.."
"I don't."

I frowned slightly, a flood of memories began to infest my mind.

"Sunny, Sunny! We should go on an adventure somewhere, just us, together!"

"Sunny, don't be scared! I'll hold your hand!"

"Sunnyyy~~! Pleeeaaase? Will you read this with me? It's a graphic novel adaptation of SWEETHEART'S QUEST FOR HEARTS!!"

"Sunnyy!!"
"Sunny!"
"SUNNY."

Sunny.." I began to sob, the memories with him began to overcome my soul, the tears rushing to come out my eyes.
"Au-Aubrey.. I.." Basil softly grasped my hand and let me to the couch. As we sat down, my tears began to enlarge. It looked as if there were little water balloons streaming down my face.
He wrapped his arm around me, it felt comforting. My face was red from both the tears and embarrassment, so I quickly covered it with my sleeve. I sniffled and sniffled.

Basil soon pulled me into a tight hug, basically a cuddle since we were sitting down. "Everything will be ok.." He stroked my head softly, he had done the same thing to calm me down when we were little. I don't know how much time had passed, but I soon felt myself falling into a deep sleep, the warmth from my surroundings made me feel safe.

BASIL'S POV:

Aubrey has always been an emotional person, ever since she was little. No matter if that emotion was sadness, anger, happiness.. Love even. It was very obvious whatever she was feeling, just by glancing into her eyes you could tell what she was feeling.

For some reason, I was jealous of Sunny. Whenever Aubrey would be close to him, I always felt a strange feeling. It wasn't really anger, no.. But I just felt uncomfortable, I guess? I wanted her to feel like that for me, maybe..

I held her softly, she laid in my arms as she peacefully slept.

She mumbled ever so slightly on occasion, saying something about her bunny or some "plant boy" or something.. Her breathing was steady, so was her heart. It wasn't the first time I had been so close to her, we'd do this all the time when we were little.

Right beside her, I began to drift to sleep as well. My eyelids sank into my skull, leaving me in a pitch black void, yet somehow.. It was comforting.

"B-Basil...?!"I woke up to the feeling of being shaked softly. I opened my eyes to see Aubrey looking down at me, her face red and her eyes still slightly puffy. "I-.. 2 hours have passed.."Her expression softened, her grip on my loosening. My eyes still sleepy, I looked up at her and began to wrap my arms around her once more, pulling her down.

"Mmh.. 5 more minutes.."

"B-Basil.. P-Polly might be back soon.."

"..Shit.."I mumbled under my breath, rubbing my eyes.

"W-we could go up to my room..?" I tried to find a way that I could spend more time with her, for I didn't really want this moment to end. "We could bring the TV up there and watch a movie maybe.." I looked to the side.

"Hmm.. Alright."
She smiled, standing up quickly.

"Let's go."
