Evelyn's heart lurched into her throat. She tried to pull away, but the grip he had on her was too tight. "Who are you?" she managed to choke out.

The figure leaned in close, so close that Evelyn could feel his breath on her face. It smelled like rotting leaves and dead things. "My name is not important," he whispered.

He gripped her left wrist tighter, burying his head in the crook of her neck as he inhaled her. "fresh..." She heard him purr on her neck.

"Let go of me you pervert!" She screamed "help!"

"No one's gonna hear you, you wench!" He hissed then his eyes turned blue and again shone a brighter shade of yellow. Fear gripped her the more as she struggled in his grip while screaming for help.

"Just shut up and be a good girl" the now yellow eyed guy said.

And then, Evelyn remembered her father didn't bring her up to be this weak and vulnerable. She took the chance within her reach and bit hard into his wrist causing him to be distracted for a while. At that moment she went under his arm fleeing for her dear life.

Only that she suspected this person didn't look human cos how was it possible that he ran to catch up with her in a flash. Suddenly, another hand sprang forth yanking the guy off her.

She breathed a sigh of relief "Run! Don't look back" the new guy roared at her as she nodded and complied.

Zane felt relived seeing the human had obeyed. He was very much quick to have saved this woman from this rabid rogue who was out to rape a human. There was definitely something fishy. Were the rogues out here just for sexual pleasures or something even more. He needs to find out.

The yellow eyed guy struggled against his grip, hissing, "Who the hell are you?"

Zane's eyes flared red, a sign of his dominance and authority as an Alpha. "Your Alpha," he said, a smirk now on his lips. The yellow eyed rogue suddenly went limp in Zane's arms, his resistance fading away.

Once the rogue was taken care of, Zane turned his attention back to the hazel eyed woman who was now mixed with people partying.
Their second meeting and she doesn't yet recognize him yet as the guy from the restaurant.

He went later sitting on the beach sand watching her and observing her especially her flawless skin which was radiating under the moonlight.
She quickly said something to a ginger haired then started walking towards the exit.

Wondering why the girl was suddenly leaving the party set up by her friends, he followed her then when he was near, he called out to her.

He still didn't know her name, so he just called her "Red" based on her dress color.

"Are you leaving already?" Zane asked nervously. He wasn't sure why he felt so anxious around her. It was a new feeling for him.

She turned to him in surprise. "You! You're the guy from the restaurant. You're the one who saved me from that creep."

"Yes, I couldn't just stand by and let him hurt you. I had to do something."

"And what makes you think I wouldn't suspect you? Are you stalking me?" She suddenly turned it against him.

Zane frowned "Stalking?"

He might have wanted to stalk her but knowing he's not that kind of a guy, he let it go knowing if their paths eventually crossed then it was meant to be. He's an Alpha and not a woman stalker.

“Yes, stalking”

"You sure are mouthy for a tiny human" he would say but she's going to run from him.

Zane looked into her eyes, and saw a hint of doubt there. He knew he had to convince her of his sincerity. "I'm the owner of this beach" he said causing her eyes to widen. "Prove it" she tested him

He took out his business card showing it to her. It included his newly acquired company which had the same name with the beach name. Good thing he got a business card. The beach was bought under his name. It was around the time when he had found out some rogues would secretly attend a human party on the beach. He wanted to be at alert to get some of them together.

"You don't have to believe me, but I promise you I'm not the kind of guy who stalks women. I don't even know your name."

"You should have said so from the beginning. I thought something was off about you. That guy! Was he some sort of a tool to prank me?"

Oof! This girl was unbelievable. Where did her cuteness fly to? He scrunched his face "If you don't understand anything easily then we are both wasting eachother's time" he said then made to leave but she said something else.

"I saw his eyes change from blue to yellow" she said

So, the human was just curious, thinking it was made up. Now that he was thinking about it. She doesn't smell human and neither does she smell like a werewolf.

"I can't explain his eyes changing colors or something. Don't you think it's ridiculous? Perhaps you saw something else or imagined it" he chose to sway her mind away from thinking deep into it.

"I did not..."

"You imagined it"

"I know what I saw" she deadpanned before checking her wristwatch and screaming "My curfew!"

"What?"

"Do you have a car?"

A smile crept on his lips "Of course. A beach owner should have one shouldn't he?" Was she trying to leach onto him. If she was, he would never see her the same way anymore.

"I need a ride to reach home in twenty minutes. If I go to the bus station then I won't make it earlier. Please help. I'll repay you for both the ride and you saving me" she offered him a pleading eyes which he wouldn't resist.

And so they were now on the road, a hiphop song playing from the radio.

"How about a coffee to thank you?" She asked

"Or your name first?" he said shooting her a smile

She was silent for a moment. "My name is Evelyn" she said at last. "I just… I don't know if I can trust you."

"I understand you, hazel. Nice name by the way. I'm Zane. Zane Arnold"

"So, coffee?" Nodding her head, she asked looking at him expectantly for an answer, ignoring the nickname he chose over her name

"Sure. Give me your phone" she looked at him suspiciously "what for?"

"To punch in my number, what else?" She flashed him a confused look "I'm not going to do anything to your phone, I promise. We need to contact eachother, hence the phone number" he said reassuringly

"Oh right" she quickly unlocked her phone giving it to him. He could see her relax a little, but she was still tense. Hard trusting a stranger, he observed. From the corner of his eyes, he could see her observing him curiously.

He carefully typed his number into her phone, and then handed it back to her. "There, all done."

She looked at him, her expression softening a little. "Alright" she said."

He turned his attention back on the road but still, certain thoughts swam in his head.
He couldn't help wondering what was going on in her small head but at the same time he found her so cute and beautiful.

"Is she our mate?" He asked his wolf for the first time in years.

                      A/N:
Ooh the Alpha's wolf is here. Don't get confused. He always had his wolf but they stopped communicating.
