The Long Point fighting style is a dueling-type fighting style that was prominent in the country of Serað and its surrounding nations during the 13th century in the Age of Legends. It was designed for the wealthy, those who could afford not only swords, but even swords made out of sunachite, and though many designs existed for the swords the style used, they all included a straight blade with two sharp edges and a crossguard. The style involves primarily cuts, but also a number of thrusts. A core feature of the style is that any time the blade is not in motion, it is leveled point-first at the face of one's opponent. Some of its thrusting techniques involve hooking a finger over the guard, so many of the swords used by practitioners of the style included extra protection for a finger over the guard. The footwork of the style is very particular to dueling, as it keeps the feet nearly in line with each other, so that one can draw back their front leg if the opponent was to cut for it, protecting themselves while opening a line to counterattack. The low guard and high guard each have variants where the practitioner widens their stance, bending their knees further in order to prepare for a lunging attack, either a cut with the false or true edge or a thrust to the face, legs or lower torso. The depiction above shows a member of the Kingdom Ben comes from in the four basic stances, but this particular fighting style has not been practiced since the Age of Legends, so this drawing is anachronistic.
