November 2, 2009. Bently and Malik woke up that morning, their bodies pressed together softly. They'd been sleeping together really since Bently's 17th birthday, and Bently wouldn't have it any other way.
Bently's alarm went off, signaling the two had to get up for classes. Bently yawned and buried his face in Malik's shoulder. "I don't wanna get up.." he grumbled. Malik giggled. "No one said we had to get up right now." He said, running his hand through Bently's messy hair. "But we have classes.." Bently sleepily muttered, burying his face deeper into Malik's shoulder. "Well...you could always sleep in and I tell the teachers you're sick." Malik suggested, which got a groan out of Bently. "No...don't want you to leave..." he groaned, holding onto Malik's arm. "I guess we're both 'sick' then, hm?" Malik teased. Bently yawned. Malik sighed and got up. "I gotta go shower. You stay right here ok?" He told Bently, who just sleepily nodded.
By the time Malik had gotten out of the shower, Bently had fallen asleep. Malik smiled, sitting beside Bently. The sleeping boy stirred slightly, but didn't wake up. Malik gently pulled Bently into his arms and cuddled him. Bently felt something soft wrap around him, so he cuddled into it. He opened his eyes a few minutes later to see just what was wrapped around him—wings. Wait. Wings? Bently sat up, confused. When he looked at Malik, he couldn't believe what he was looking at. Malik...has wings?
When Malik realized Bently was awake and staring at him, his wings quickly disappeared. "What was- do you- what are-" Bently stuttered out. "Don't ask questions." Malik said. But, as usual, the boy didn't listen. "You have wings? But why? Are you like..." Bently paused. Malik could see a lightbulb go off in Bently's head. "Are you an angel?" He asked. "O-or a demon?" He continued. "Bently. I get that you're excited but please, for the love of whatever you believe in, stop with the questions." Malik said, letting out a sigh. He knew not to try and reason with Bently like this, as it usually didn't work. "Fineee" Bently whined, crossing his arms across his chest and pouting like a child who just got told 'no'. Malik got up and went out onto the small balcony. Bently, out of his usual curiosity, followed him. There Malik stood, his wings spread to their full length. Bently couldn't help but blush. He wanted to touch Malik's wings, to run his fingers gently through the presumably soft feathers. Bently always knew Malik had this somewhat angelic glow to him, but he never knew why. He knew he was pulled to Malik for some other reason, but he never could explain that strange feeling. But now? Now he finally had his answers. It was all because Malik is an angel. "Wow..." Bently muttered, staring at the boy in front of him. Malik's soft blonde hair blew in the wind, and his wings pulsed with a soft silvery-white light. Malik turned and held his hand out to Bently. "Come," he said, "I want to show you something."
Before Bently knew it, the two were in the sky. Malik perched on a cloud, and pulled Bently onto his lap. "Why are we up here?" Bently asked. "Just look." Malik whispered. Bently looked out in front of him and saw the most beautiful sunrise he'd ever seen. "Wow..." he muttered. "Beautiful, hm?" Malik asked. "Yeah..." Bently muttered.
Malik and Bently landed in a nearby forest just outside the school. After a few minutes, Bently spoke up. "So...you're an angel?" He asked. Malik nodded. "Yeah." He said, making a fire so the two could stay warm, since it was the early morning and it was a little cold. "Try summoning a Presenter for me. Look into it, and tell me what you see." Malik said. Bently took a deep breath and began to focus on summoning a Presenter. Soon, one floated down from the trees and into Bently's hands. It was cold and, somehow, a little wet in his hands. "Hold onto it!" Malik giggled as Bently fumbled with the Presenter. "Why is it wet?!" He groaned, now laughing at himself. "That's just how they feel sometimes. You get used to it after a while." Malik said, moving behind Bently and helping him shape the Presenter into a proper shape. Once they got it properly shaped, Bently looked into it. He couldn't believe what he saw.
