I rubbed my head that was resting on my knees, close up to my stomach. My whole body ached, and was desperately asking for rest. I've been at the police station for about 4 hours now and I could see the sun rising. I've been questioned twice from two different officers, both of them basically torturing me with their slow talking speed. My heart skipped a beat everytime I heard Sam's name, remembering him repeatedly hitting the poor guy, that apparently was named Matt. No news from him had yet been heard and no matter my attempts, I couldn't get any information out of anyone in here.

I was waiting in one of the questioning rooms waiting for the next asshole to listen to the same story I'd told the previous fuckers. My head in my hands, shot up when I heard the door open. A tall black woman dressed in a police uniform came through the door and right behind her an unexpected beat up Sam in cuffs, his eyes on the ground. A sob left my lips at the sight of him and he immediately looked up. He whispered a "Y/n" before rushing to me and wrapping his arms around me. The action was so unpredicted that unconsciously made me flinch. He took a step back, his tired eyes filled with worry. Even after everything he's done my heart still hurt, seeing him like this. I saw the officer look at us for a moment before pulling him back and on the chair infront of mine. I doubtingly made my way back to mine and sat straight. The woman started the voice recorder on the table and stated mine and Sam's name. Then her eyes landed on me.
"Y/n /Y/l/n, were you around when the incident happened?". I gulped.
"Yes I was" my voice was weak.

"Could you explain what you saw?". The same damn questions all over again.

"I believe I answered these questions twice by now correct?"

"Miss please cooperate" her tone was cold which made me take a big breath and look at Sam. He was staring at me, his eyes trying to tell me something. I panicked. What had he said to them? I couldn't fuck this up, he could be counting on me.
"I- I don't want to repeat myself" my stuttering for sure fucked it up for me.
"I'll ask once m-"
"I'm not fucking repeating myself!" in fact I couldn't. As the yell left my system as I aggressively stood up, everything became black and the earth under my feet collapsed.

Voices in the distance, made me open my eyes. I reached for my head but hissed at the pain coming from my arm. I looked at it, needles in both of my wrists. My brows drew together as I looked around me, but I smiled when I caught Ruby in a chair across the bed I was in. She must have heard me sit up cause her eyes flew open, and she ran to me as soon as she saw I was awake. She managed a "y/n" before she threw herself on me. I drew back a whine at the pain, and hugged her back. Her eyes were already wet when she looked at me. She kneeled down next to me and took my hand in hers.
"Are you in pain" she looked so sleepless, I wondered how many hours she was here.
"Im okay Ruby. What's going on" I was in need of an update, I knew nothing and remembered a few.
I looked at her while she explained what the doctors and Colby told her. My fading was because of the lack of sleep and wasn't something I should be worried about.
"As for Sam.." she trailed off staring at my messy hair. "He's been incarcerated". I felt a tear form.
"For how long"
"Like a year. After Colby payed basically [ayed a fortune so Sam doesn't get locked up for 6 years instead". I blinked. Sam almost was charged for manslaughter and all because of me. Actually, no. None of this was mine or Matt's fault, only thing he did was like me and was brutally attacked for it, and now is laying in a hospital bed in god knows where.
And just like Ruby could read my thoughts she added:
"Matt is positioned in the same hospital as you are". What.
"Are you serious? What room?" I hurried trying to get up before she stopped me in my tracks.
"Not yet Y/n, you're not getting up until we have the okay from the doctors". A sigh left my mouth, Ruby hugged me.
"I get how hard it is. You did nothing wrong so don't blame yourself" she knew too much. "Plus the guy was cute"
"You saw me? Why didn't you come to me?" I was taken aback from the dumb grin on her face.
"Are you stupid? I wouldn't wanna ruin the chemistry". I felt my cheeks turn red.
"There was no chemistry Ruby"
"You're kidding right? The man was staring at you with heart eyes babes he was clearly in l-" she was cut by someone clearing their throat and my mouth curve into a smile when I saw Colby leaning on the door, not sure if he should come in.
"Hey buddy" I watched as Ruby gave him a side hug before he came next to my bed.
"Y'all know each other?" I looked at them both ignoring the way Colby was waiting to hug me.
"I met him at the party actually, too goofy looking to miss" she teased and he just waved a hand acting offended.
I looked at him and weakly returned the smile back. He got to his knees and took my hand to his, mirroring Ruby's move. I relaxed at the familiar touch and voice.
"How are you feeling dummy"
"Not my best. But at least I still look good" I laughed at my joke
"You always do indeed" the long-haired blonde added from my left. Colby absorbed the atmosphere around him, a moment of silence played through our ears. Then he turned to me, and spoke carefully.
"Y/n you need to know something Sam said to me" he adjusted the lapels of his jacket and licked his lips.

"And I suppose his stubborness kept himself from telling me instead?".

"He probably had, still has an attachment. And that's what's making him act this way".

I scoffed.
