The room went silent, nobody moved, nobody said anything. Y/N dreaded to figure out who had gotten shot. Her eyes had glued shut when she had heard the shot ring out. Her father knowing well enough that he was out numbered now with the guards down for the count. He removed himself from the situation and sulked into the shadows disappearing. Alarms echoed through the hallways as Y/N's heart broke. Finally she had opened her eyes and saw just who it was that had gotten shot.

Ranboo.

He had sacrificed himself to save her, but why? She thought he hated her, but here he was bleeding out on the floor grasping for breath. The group didn't have long before more guards would find them. Guilt coursed through Y/N's body as she turned towards the group and back towards Ranboo.

This was her fault. He shouldn't be dying, it should be her.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as she shook her head kneeling down next to the male as she looked at Ranboo.

"Why did you save me?"

"I—had to, you're my sister." Ranboo choked out and looked up at the group as he gave them all weak smiles. Regardless of the situation the group said their goodbyes to Ranboo knowing that they couldn't save him nor bring him with him. A deep breath left the males lips as his heart slowed.

The first death among many. Y/N would make sure her father would pay for this, she was sure of it.

RANBOO POV

Ranboo thought when you died, you died. But here he was jolting awake in some room filled with sleeping pods, at least that's what he thought they were. His eyes widened in shock as he looked at the pods next to him. His friends in some comatose state. What was this sick game?

Y/N POV

Tears rolled down her cheeks as the group made their way back to the safe house, working on gathering supplies and everything. But they were trying their best. Y/N was in no state to fight and neither was Wilbur. With the group at a loss for fighters and supplies they were in trouble. The tunnels were dark, cold, damp, everything and anything you could think of. And the group hated them. But it was their only way out, how they had escaped with their lives and supplies Y/N didn't know.

Again this all felt too familiar like she had ran through these tunnels before and or that this was all just a trap and there were going to be guards at the end of the tunnels. This wasn't just a game anymore, this was life. This was how they had to survive. Losing Ranboo fueled her with rage and the need for revenge. And she was going to get it.

Footsteps echoed in the tunnel as the group walked, how long they had been walking for they had no clue. Y/N was beginning to think they were lost. Which turned out to be exactly true.

"Uh not going to lie I'm pretty sure we past that same rope on the wall like ten minutes ago." Tommy quipped as he ran a hand through his hair. They were all growing tired. Their feet ached and they didn't know how much longer they had. Y/N rolled her eyes and shook her head.

"I saw the tunnel split into another as we passed the rope a few minutes later. We can rest in that tunnel for a bit and take guard. Get our energy back and figure out a real plan to find our way out."

Phil nodded even though they had to get back and to treat Wilbur. Even without the cure Phil knew that they had to try. They had to try and save Wilbur. After all it was obvious of what the cure was made from at this point. The blood of the immune. At least he thought, that's all it took and a few other ingredients that he also knew about. Phil had after all worked for them for a couple years before he left the corrupt capital. He wasn't proud of it, but he did have the experience to save Wilbur, at least he hoped.

Approaching the tunnel they were to rest in the group walked down and off to the side so if someone or something were to find them they'd be hidden away so they couldn't be found. Y/N and Wilbur were on first watch as the others rested. Finally they were able to talk.

"Wil I'm sorry you got bit this is my fault."

"It isn't but I accept your apology anyways."

Y/N lowered her head as tears yet again formed in her eyes as she shook her head. This was her fault so how come he couldn't just blame her? Blame her and get it over with, say that she was a fuck up just like her father would be saying if they were together right now. Anger fueled her as she punched the wall with all her force. Her hand immediately hurting afterwards but it was better then punching someone.

"I've been meaning to tell you something actually Y/N and you don't have to answer me or tell me you feel the same, but if I'm going to die I want you to know that I'm falling for you. Or I'm in love with you if you would use those words, I know that love is a strong word to say after barely having known you for a few months but these past few months I've became closer to you and spending time with you genuinely made and makes me happy."

More tears filled Y/N's eyes, the boy she had been falling for just admitted he felt the same about her, but why couldn't she bring herself to say she felt the same. Worry filled her as she finally realized the reason she couldn't. The document saying that in the end she would be the one to kill Wilbur, if this was at all true she had to push him away. They had to do something before he fully turned and she had no choice but to kill the person that she was falling in love.

"I—Wilbur, don't think like that, don't say you're going to die. We're going to figure this out and you'll be fine, you'll make it out fine. I promise you. You will survive this Wil." A reassuring smile formed on her lips as she placed a hand onto Wilbur's shoulder as he looked over at her defeated. He hoped that she was right. Wilbur hoped that they would find a way to save him, a way to stop him from turning into the god awful creatures that they were.

He had to be normal.
